We could look at the final letter in our NINo - I believe that's the character which indicates the day of the week payment is made for weekly payments. My final character is D, I'm paid on Mondays and received the £200 last Wednesday.0

My wife got the letter saying she is getting her £100, I never got a letter but the two £100s were paid on the same day a week later.

As far as I am aware the last letter: ABC or D refers to the quarter of the year (or financial year) in which you first applied for your NI number!General_Grant said:We could look at the final letter in our NINo - My final character is D,
Or maybe that is just an urban myth

I was sad enough to google. No, historically it used to indicate the quarter in which your employer had to send in your completed card with all its stamps on (actual sticky stamps) and start a new one. Yes, we are talking a long, long time ago.Katiehound said:

Gosh I remember those cards. My boss used to send me to the Post Office to buy thr stamps. Then they were stuck in the cards and the date written across them. Such a long time ago...Savvy_Sue said:

Ah, so it did refer to a quarter of the year. I also think it was when you first applied for your card- cos the letter was an integral part of the number!
For many years my card only had the very odd stamp on it- I assume working Sats only did not qualify for anything!
