I would rather receive mine later than sooner because I'll only spend it! When it comes later it's better. 

I always thought they did it alphabetically according to the year you retired but maybe that's wrong. My surname is towards the end of the alphabet and I've always received it after my friends whose surnames begin with C and H. 

Still, it's a lovely bonus, I don't care when it comes! It usually does come, though, to be fair.

Mine arrived yesterday, a month after letter.  Looked back previous years and never been later than 21 November before.  If there's any connection to NI letter, mine's a Y.

It's not done either alphabetically or by NI number - it's pretty much random I believe, as it just trawls through the non-indexed database..

I haven't even received the letter, I normally get mine in November, My surname begins with an M and NI Y.
