    #4 checking in for 2021
Would really love to keep this number, please, as it has special relevance to me 🤞🏻
Achieved my 2020 target of getting balance down so that interest is now slightly under £1 a day, so will be offsetting going forwards, with a view towards making substantial renovations in a few years time.
My outstanding mortgage balance is only small now (less than many others overpayment target!😳) but so is my income, so it’s all relative. I may need to borrow more in a few years time for the renovations so don’t plan to repay in full early as I think it’ll be easier/cheaper than repaying in full and then starting a new mortgage again shortly afterwards.
Can you please put me down for a target of £600 for now, julicorn, and many thanks for running this again 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end
    MFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

    Hi julicorn,
Could I please join too? Was a little late in the game to join this year so hoping to start 2021 with a target of £2021. Hopefully will manage to shave some off renovation debts and shuffle some into savings too 🙂
  • please please could I join in for this challenge again and keep my number of 72 please.  Target will be £2000.
  • New lower number please? ;-)
    Target of £4660
  • Please can I join again? Currently #93 but happy to swap numbers.
I'm setting myself the ambitious target of £10,000 next year. I really want to get below the £100,000 mark before our mortgage is up for renewal in Spring 2022. I don't have a detailed plan to achieve this amount yet (although am working on it!), but our outgoings have halved since the start of the pandemic (working from home, no going out at weekends, etc) and my son starts school in September so it should free up some more of my time to earn.
I built up a big savings buffer this year so basically everything else can now get thrown at the mortgage after Christmas...Just need to find an extra £190 a week...🙄
Original mortgage total: £140,000.00 (July 2015) Original mortgage end date: June 2040
Mortgage free start date: 16th October 2018 Mortgage total at this point: £132,829.12
Current mortgage total: £54,762.71 Current mortgage end date: June 2032 Daily interest: £7.59 > £2.64
  • I would love to join again, being part of this challenge has really kept me focused this year.
I was #36 this year and I'm happy to keep this or change, whatever works for you is good for me.
Target for next year.... I would like to aim for £8000 OP for 2021, this is on top of my usual payments so should hopefully make a dent in my (still very big) mortgage  :)
Small OPs are better than no OPs
    Start date - Feb 2018 £231,000 / Apr 2042
    July 2025 £116,950 / Dec 2025
MFW #60…. Back in for 2025!
  • Hi Everyone
I would love to join this challenge.  Only going to set a small target of £500 for the first year if that’s ok as currently hammering down my loan.  My 5 year fix ends next November and if rates are still as good as they are now, then I can make larger overpayments.  That’s the plan.
