Reduced price for redecoration

Hi all,
We've been at the point of exchange 3 times now when either my buyer or my vendor throw a spanner in the works.
Today my buyer announce that they want a price reduction as the home buyer survey cites one wall which has lining paper on might reveal an issue if it were removed and need redecoration. The report then says there are no defects.
My buyer says they haven't factored in the cost of this....but it is all newly redecorated with brand new carpets.
We are desperate not to lose the house are are buying but already accepted their first offer which was £15k under the asking price.
Am i being reasonable when i tell them i am not taking a lower offer?
For context the chain was sorted in September and due to complete on 11th dec which has now been delayed to the 18th.
Thanks

You’re being perfectly reasonable and that’s a ridiculous request imo; especially as they’re already paying 15k under asking

What kind of issue might it reveal? Do they mean it might take some of the plaster off with the paper? Crazy request IMHO.

If they didn't expect lining paper, it's because they didn't look at the wall.
They're idiots. If they walk over this, that just proves they're irredeemably so. If they don't, what will their next thing be?7 -
That's all i can assume. I have been lucky enough to see the report and it is actually very positve but with the standard comments about how they might want to redecorate to suit their taste.NameUnavailable said:What kind of issue might it reveal? Exactly! I feel like just giving up! It's one thing after another but this is ridiculousAdrianC said:If they didn't expect lining paper, it's because they didn't look at the wall.

How absolutely ridiculous ! Im guessing first time buyers ? That would annoy me immensely because if you did change the price, their mortgage offer would need changing. Tell them in strong terms to get lost. Hope you exchange soon !3

just it just tell them
yhe price reflects the condition of the house, take it or leave it1 -
I hadn't even considered that it would of course need then a revised mortgage offer.Densol said:How absolutely ridiculous ! Im guessing first time buyers ? I will indeed tell them to get lost! Thank you2 -
Also if they want to redecorate they just paint over it, in whatever colour or paper over it, there's no real need to strip lining paper unless it needs replacing or they want to replaster the walls.I would be tempted to reply saying no, but also that you have been thinking about it and you feel you dropped your price too much and now want another £5K. See how they respond to that, bet they'll be begging you to let them proceed!!1
