I saw that ... and somewhat discounted it as being merely words without provenance. (They can easily write what they like - it doesn't mean it is true). Nothing there would have enticed me to buy from them - unless I decided that I knowingly wished to take such a risk.

Well, it is true that "We offer UK version/ international version of products that both can be used in UK." They've sold you an international version which you can use in the UK, just not in the same way that you could have used a UK version.
  • Regards refund they've said they'll give me £10 if I keep it. As for a full refund they've said nothing. They've linked me to what you just have which is fair enough but I didn't see it.

Yes I thought is this one of those dodgy sites which is why I then searched for reviews on it. When those came back positive I went ahead with it. I'd previously bought from one of these Asian sites and hadn't checked reviews. After the purchase I was pointed towards them and saw how negative they were. So when these reviews came back positive I thought well that sounds OK then. This must be a good site.

Rgeradless, all that stuff is irrelevant now as it changes nothing. Working on what should have dones isn't helpful to the matter at hand.

So going forward with this watch, how would I contact the credit card company to see if they could help out? Do you go through a specific procedure or do I just call up Amex customer services, explain the situation and see if there's any way they can help with the refund from this company?

Ideal solution would be to be able to flash the watch with the appropriate firmware. I've asked in techie forum but no response yet.

not sure a credit card company would help as you got what you paid for.
I would try for a return but I wouldnt hold my breath
  • I can see where you're coming from although this wouldn't be the first time MSEers have been wrong.

Thats the point where some will spit the dummy and say well don't bother asking then but these will miss the point, I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong actually. In the past I had an incident with ebay. The MSE response was tough luck it's your fault and you'll have to pay for it. eBay got involved and I got my refund.
Maybe it's the case that I'm stuck with the watch now and maybe MSE is right. Doesn't harm to try other avenues though. At worst they'll just result in a no can do.
  • What features are unavailable in the UK? Usually, grey imports are better because they don't get subject to EU requirements!

    From what i have read...

    Samsung Pay
    ECG & blood pressure feature.

I don't know if that is it and nothing else or if there's other features missing that i'm not yet aware of.

Now i know some would say Samsung Pay ... use your phone, or the bank card itself. ECG and blood pressure are you going to use it? Buy a blood pressure machine if you're that bothered.

But at the end of the day the watch has these features (UK version at least) so I would like them to be there. How much i'll use these features, i don't know as i've not had the chance yet.
  • Just having a look now i'm home and it looks like i used my Amex card via PayPal if that helps any?

What's the situation regards distance selling regs? Does it not apply to items such as these (because obviously you have to break the packaging seal to open the item up so therefore can't be sold as brand new again as the seal has been broken) but only to i don't know, items like clothing say - as that can be sold as new providing the tags are still intact.

Clutching at straws maybe but am trying anything really.

UK does not have ECG/Blood Pressure. The only option missing would be Samsung Pay.
