Hope this is the official means to give feedback on Resolver.Shell Energy Broadband would'nt pay me the promised £50 incentive payment for switching to them so asked Resolver for help,lo & behold I got the payment within a week.
Many thanks Resolver.0 -
When I rang Shell , I was informed standard users would be moved to fibre due to "problems customers experience with std broadband"

I think the switch has to be completed within 30 days. But if it isn't going to be completed perhaps you could call them to terminate the service earlier - this would leave you without broadband for a few days (weeks) and not sure if it affects the switch.ordnancesurvey84 said:I've received the same email from Shell Energy Broadband. The email says I can cancel the contract within the next 30 days without incurring cancellation charges, and that I'm to call them to discuss my options.
Firstly, do I actually need to call them for someone to manually approve the cancellation charge waiver?
Secondly, does the switch to a new provider have to have been completed within 30 days, or does the switch just need to have been started within 30 days (bearing in mind that the switch process can take 2-3 weeks). I ask because the best deal right now in my area according to MSE is effectively £15.66/month (including incentives) for broadband and line rental - which is significantly higher than I've paid in previous years, so I'd want to wait a few weeks to see if anything better comes along.

this won't be charged.
I can't even sign up to "standard" broadband with another openreach provider. Once I enter my postcode and old phone number, the standard package becomes unavailable.grinch53 said:When I rang Shell , I was informed standard users would be moved to fibre due to "problems customers experience with std broadband"
My shell contract was the MSE Feb 2020 at £11.75 / month, but as I won't be paying the final 2 months, it will work out to be £10.50 a month.
I'm going with NOW fibre £22 per month with TCB £100 back = £14 / month0 -
same here - (£24/mo with £100 credit, so ~£10/mo to-date if i cancel now). but cheapest offer via mse is for shell too (says 2 mo free, plus £60 credit, so £15/mo effective). anyone know if that is only for new shell customers? also anyone know how to access offer terms and conditions (i saw it via weekly email, but clicking on mse's shell link only mentions £60 credit, not the 2 months free, and no other terms and conditions)? unfortunately, that offer expires tonight....35moss said:It turns out that Shell Energy have just announced a price increase mid contract. That's on the £19.99 a month deal, reduced by £60 credit after 3 months. So if they increase it after 6 months, you're entitled to leave, which I'll be doing. So, I'll have paid 6x£19.99 = £119.94 less £60 which I've already had back, so I'll have paid £59.94 for 6 months broadband.A bargain, I believe. And I will be leaving them to take advantage of their largesse whilst trying to bilk customers mid contract.0 -
Join TCB plus for £5 and the cashback goes up to £100 - so technically £95 if you don't make any other transactions for the rest of the yearaduffell said:

Yes obviously for new customers only, if you want to leave your contract early you can't just stay with the same provider0 -

ta - forced to leave coz shell breaking the contract with price increase (hence need to check t+c of their new offer, in case shell were being fair/ethical, but no joy as you say - coz shell are adding to the 'rip off britain' culture as someone mentioned above)hermante said:Yes obviously for new customers only, if you want to leave your contract early you can't just stay with the same provider0 -
Hi, my bill credit was due to be applied this month £100, if I cancel due to the price rise will I get refunded the £100 or will I loose it.0
