When rent day falls on a weekend or bank holiday, when would landlord expect payment?

I've just emailed them to ask them this very question. Will report back what they say. I strongly suspect they'll tell me it's not an issue at all.janoid19 said:
Yeah, same here.FFS2020 said:
Exactly. I'm really astonished by the tone of some of the comments, as if I'm some sort of deadbeat for my Standing Order going out on the 1st working day after the due date when or if due date falls on a weekend/bank holidayjanoid19 said:If its set up with a standing order then if the due day falls on a weekend the payment will just come out the next working day. I have rented for years with different landlords and I never even thought about this being a problem and no one has ever mentioned it.
If you already have the standing order set up just leave it to it.
I would have thought since most landlords would have tenants paying by standing order, that it would just be common knowledge that some banks would not pay the Standing Order on a weekend and it will come the next working day.1 -
I'm sure many landlords would chance arguing for extra 5 month's rent, why not the other way round. In my experience it's landlords who are the money grabbers, largely.
Artful: landlord since 20001 -
So I’ve heard back from the landlord now.
Me:
“Just realised my rent falls due on a weekend this month and my bank’s said my Standing Order will reach you on the next working day — i.e. the Monday. Is this OK or would you prefer me to put a manual faster payment through this month on the actual rent day instead?”
Landlord:
“This will be fine, not to worry. "
