Say rent day is a Saturday -- is receiving payment for rent on the following Monday considered acceptable?

How do you pay - if it's online you can still pay it on the Saturday so why wait?
Otherwise I'd pay it on the Friday - just looks better. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I'd pay it on the Friday otherwise you could be said to be in arrears even if by one day. Regard it as 'rent to received by x date' rather than 'rent due on x date'.2

technically speaking, it will be the next business day as this would be how a standing order would work. so if you have a standing order set up, it will work like this. if you are making a bank transfer yourself, it can be done any day, including weekends and bank holiday.1

If a monthly payday falls on a weekend or bank holiday it's not really acceptable to delay payment until the next working day is it? People might have direct debits going out or any number of other commitments to pay.So why should delaying rental payments be any more acceptable? What does the rental contract specify?1

As for the landlord being plunged into hardship by the rent arriving on the next business day I do not think that would be an issue. I'm part of a Build To Rent development where 100s of flats are all built purposely for long-term rental and are owned by a huge corporation.0 -

If it's standing order, so it's automatically down by bank, then leave it to the bank.4

I may send a quick email to the landlord and see what they say. I would imagine they'd be unlikely to have a problem with someone who's a good reliable tenant having their rent arrive on the next working day due to the way my bank handles Standing Orders.0 -
My past rent and now mortgage have always been paid via standing order and if it falls on a weekend/bank hol it just goes through the next working day (the same as any other direct debits and standing orders that I have and Nothing has ever been mentioned about this and Its never been classed as arrears or a ‘late payment’4
