  • Just a quick hello! And nice to 'see' you....  :) Good luck on your saving and mortgage over-paying journey. It can be done!

And +1 to no longer hobbling on heels pretending that I am not completely frozen in stupid clothes after a night of gyrating to the top tunes of 'Tainted love', and their friends, trying to look cool, not forgetting 'YMCA', or worse the inevitable 'Conga' where someone always fell over drunk, that was always rolled out towards the end of the night.... ! (Showing my age a wee bit there....ha!)

  • The money exists, you're aware of it, but the mental split makes the brain not want to dip into it.
You're doing really well with increasing the blanket, it appears your surveys are the equivalent of digging down the sofa 😊

Hope you have a good weekend with the boys and get the Christmas preparations underway.

Ah yes, the good old days of clubbing and no coat, seems if we were our younger selves and got together we would have raised the roof!

    Thank you Irenadler.
MF in an ideal world I aim to cover the amount of mortgage interest I pay a day (currently 10.24).
Managed to get back in my mortgage app, current Bal 141,614.58... I feel a bit of rounding coming up after I have completed a square of my blanket.
Been a lovely chilled day here lots of playing, some in the garden so we went outside but didn't get out as such.
Boys are watching a film and making a paper chain.
Time to think about my evening meal... I definitely need to start planning this better for 2 reasons, 1 I would like to loose some weight and 2 save some money.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.

You will find a comfortable balance between the blanket, squirrel and pig.
Maybe ease yourself into meal planning by doing 2 days a week for a month, then increase to 3 days a week and so forth.

Relaxing days are definitely needed 🤗

  • Hi LW2G
Pretty impressed that you've paid off over £17k from the mortgage - within a year! That's amazing.... at that rate, you will pay it off within 10 years or sooner. And saving. And getting more together for maintenance!  :) I will be watching with interest and cheering you on. You will have so much security and peace of mind for yourself and your family. :)

    Thanks Irenadler,
We have OP'd 9092.85 since our remortgage in Aug 2019, the money comes from a variety of sources:
    Btl
    Own business
    Market research
    Surveys
Money we have saved on direct debits
    Salary increases
    Reciept/ shopping apps
Anytime I get a voucher for payment of market research or reciept aps I trf the equivalent to mortgage/savings.

I'm doing my first account switch, trying to sell bits on e3ay (nothing sold yet) and may look into match betting. After spending years just spending and not being good with money I am pushing to make up for lost time. We all wish our lb moment was sooner but we can't change that... We can only change the future.
MF so glad you got the benefit 🙂

A square in my excel blanket has been completed and I have managed to round the mortgage down to 141600. After my post earlier today I managed to actually make my first 3bay sale and with a bit of account rounding have hit my 2 mini targets... Everything else this month will go towards the roof.

  • Now the one square has been done, the others will want to join. Soon it's new roof time 🤗
