    Pre pandemic ? , yes

Post pandemic ?? No !!  Most stuff these days is via email
  • Just a quick update! Sorry I never got around to upload my final copy of the witness statement as unable to figure out how to upload it on Dropbox.
But good news is that a letter received from DCB legal to say that Mr Walton Wilkins requested for discontinue of case.
I just wonder is there a way to claim back my compensation from Mr Wilkins of the £60 administration fee that was charged by the hiring company?
I would like to thank you for everyone’s support from this forum, I wouldn’t be able to win this without all the information and suggestion provided. Really appreciated for every single post and the newbie posts

Why not take the hire company to court?  Is is easy. read this,

    https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/law-and-courts/legal-system/small-claims/making-a-small-claim/

It has been my experience that, if you threaten a large company with lregal action, and you have a good case, they will settle out of court, read this,

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • Thanks everyone. I will try to contact the hiring company first and see what they say, if not may have to take them to court 😂 but I would like to say thank you so much once again for all the help and supports

Glad to hear you won! ANOTHER WALTON WILKINS ONE BITES THE DUST!

Now please, please make a difference and do the Government Consultation before it closes on Friday morning.

You could send a copy of the discontinuance to the lease hire firm and ask them to refund the admin fee because the PCN was cancelled once you defended it.  Some lease firms refund the fee if the PCN is cancelled.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Now please, please make a difference and do the Government Consultation before it closes on Friday morning.  The MHCLG are asking the public about the level of parking charges and the fact PPCs add fake costs. I imagine you will have an opinion about that...

Also see the Group Claim thread if your PCN was since December 2018.  A solicitor is looking to represent victims on a no win no fee basis v the DVLA for alleged DPA 2018 data breach.

Both are threads on page 1 or 2 right now, both in your interests to do this week!

I will certainly be happy to do the government consultation. Thanks for all of your help to get me winning this case!

I’ve contacted the hiring firm today, this is exactly what they say so I’m happy that I’m able to get my £60 back after over 3 years of fighting!!

A really satisfying overall result for you - and for the forum. Nice one.

Yes, please respond to the Consultation and recount your experiences, especially in the context of the likes of WW and his low rent solicitors not only using the overstretched county court system as a ratchet to force people to pay him, but him falsely adding fake charges he has never incurred, dressed as 'debt collection/admin charges' in order to enrich himself and the debt collectors, then to subsequently discontinue when he and his solicitors realise they have been rumbled.

    It has to stop!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
