County court letter arrived from Mr Walton Wilkins Premier parking logistics. HELP

The incident happened back in April 2018 when I had a hired car. I wasn’t the driver at the time of the parking incident! I was the passenger and went into the mini supermarket for 10 mins while the driver waited in the car with the engine still running and tailgate lights still on! We have no idea when the Parking warden sneakily took the picture from behind until a parking notice came through the post under my name! On my appeal/complain email to PPL I stupidly put the relationship of the driver as I genuinely thought it was a mistake that they made for sending me the parking notice! No replied from PPL, then couple of Debt collector letters & now a county court business letter!
I’m so worried but I am ready to fight it till the end cos it clearly was a scam! Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!

I’ve read through the newbie FAQ #2 post and have submitted the AOL via MCOL. I’ve now got 28 days to write up my defence. Many thanks in advance!!

  • On the parking sign, it says the 2 marked bays was for the customer of Seoul Plaza which was the supermarket I went into, I can provide the bank statement of the transaction. But the “marked” bays was so unclearly as there are spaces for 3 vehicles and the photo of the parking notice our car was probably out of the marked bay.

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?

Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.

Your VRM is visible in the picture of the court claim form

I can see that they have inflated the £100 charge on the sign to over £192 , not allowed !!

    That's now twice you've mentioned AOL.    :)

With a Claim Issue Date of 20th November, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Wednesday 23rd December 2020 to file your Defence.
As that's the last working day before Christmas for the courts, you might expect them to close a little early and want to make an allowance for that. Filing your Defence the day before might be prudent.

That's four weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
