My last order was from GSF. Considerably cheaper than ECP/carparts4less.

I do try around the online sellers and look for discount codes too (Honey is great for that as a Chrome browser extension).

I also use AutoDoc, but thats really for stuff i am planning ahead for, given they take around 2+ weeks to deliver.

I got my ceramic brake pads and front fog lights for my Z4 off them.  I think they worked out at maybe about 30% cheaper than anyone else.  BUT thats not to say next time / for the next part they wouldnt be dearer than some site with a deal on.

With having old cars I tend to buy service items as and when I see them, 3 of my cars take the same filter.

    Typically my prices are
    Oil Filter £5
    Spark plugs (Genuine) 10 - 20p
    Cam Belts £5.
Oil bought at 25ltrs a time £20 per 5 ltrs.

So a service does not exactly kill me !

Where can you buy spark plugs for 10p ? would have thought the packaging costs more than 10p

You buy a lot of new old Stock plugs, they are probably actually free now as I sold off the ones I did not need.

There's nothing wrong with Bosch filters - just as good as Mann.

I've never found ECP particularly good on prices, with far too much emphasis on their own-brand rubbish. I tend to look at Mister-Auto before ECP/CP4L. Or just see what's available on Amazon/eBay - obvs, anything not mentioning brand gets ignored. Fluids usually from Opie.

As far as "massive hike" goes, surely this is actually "BF discounts not as big as I was expecting"?

bosch is one of those companies that used to produce tools and then they just started putting their brand name on everything - stuff that they don't even produce. IIRC bosch car batteries are basically rebranded varta and if you shop around you can get slightly high spec varta ones for for the price of a bosch battery.

I very much doubt bosch are making car air filters, probably crosland or mann filter rebranded.
Bosch used to produce tools and now starts putting brand name on everything? Really? Robert Bosch are the largest pass car OEM in the world, you dont get to that position by sticking a few labels on someone else's product. I agree some aftermarket parts will be branded, but not the vast majority

As for filters since 1978, Bosch has been producing filters in Spain. Nowadays, their plant in Aranjuez develops and produces fuel filters, oil filter elements and Denoxtronic filters.
As for cabin filters they are OE fit on many vehicles so unlikely the are just boxed as Bosch, it wouldn't make commercial sense. Again some AM parts will be reboxed but not the majority
