Massive Hike in Car Servicing Parts Prices
I always buy my servicing parts on Black Friday for the year ahead. Normally buy from Eurocarparts. This year the price seems much higher especially for Mann filters. Crazy prices. So a major service is going to cost me £40 instead of the normal £30 excluding pollen filter. Bosch filters seem to be much cheaper but I always like to buy the best. What's going on?

Perhaps the impending departure from Europe has had an impact on prices.
Have you tried Autodoc? Germany based but very cheap. Good if you're not in a rush for the parts as they can take a couple of weeks to come.0 -
They are more expensive. I have bought quite a lot of stuff in the past from Germany. It seems to be Mann that have hiked their prices. I could do it a lot cheaper with other brands. I bought from Carparts4less. I don't really trust them any more but I only need them in March so I should have them by then.KimJongUn88 said:Perhaps the impending departure from Europe has had an impact on prices.

Wrong! It's £40 this year. Just wondering whether to change brands.caprikid1 said:

There's nothing wrong with Bosch filters - just as good as Mann.
I've never found ECP particularly good on prices, with far too much emphasis on their own-brand rubbish. I tend to look at Mister-Auto before ECP/CP4L. Or just see what's available on Amazon/eBay - obvs, anything not mentioning brand gets ignored. Fluids usually from Opie.
As far as "massive hike" goes, surely this is actually "BF discounts not as big as I was expecting"?0 -
Mister Auto looks a lot more expensive than CP4L. Opie looks expensive too. I had an argument with Bosch and refuse to buy anything Bosch ever again.0

Wait a while. It is Black Friday! the day when everything is a bargain! Buy it now!Why would they discount stuff they can shift anyway? I'd stick a bit on and hope people don't keep a watch on the prices. If you know you are going to buy something, check the prices on a regular basis, and buy it when they are overstocked so they discount a bit.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

I always buy my servicing parts for the year ahead on black Friday. Maybe that's what has changed. Poor discounts on black Friday this year. What I noticed first though was just Mann filters seem to have become very expensive on Eurocarparts as though maybe Mann and Eurocarparts have fallen out.0

If you don’t want to pay for Mann and have fallen out with Bosch, how about Mahle?0
