Apologies if I gave the impression that that was what I was suggesting. There have been a number of similar incidents in France particularly recently, and I suspect it is only a matter of time before more copycat incidents develop.
Crypto is a very efficient way for people who wish to remain anonymous to shift money (even when forced to take a haircut because of price volatility), and I suspect this type of incident will only grow, as once the money is gone there is no real prospect of recovery.
Blockchain transaction systems have a number of potential valuable uses, but this type of incident highlights a vulnerability for users.

Surely if bitcoin is anonymous then generally people are going to be… anonymous! if someone mouths off about their bitcoin then that's putting yourself at risk. The individual is usually the problem.

No need to "mouth off" about your anonymous holdings when Revolut will do it for you. Nice how the scammers only bothered to ask for the data of persons with large crypto holdings.

I wouldn't touch Revolut with a barge pole when looking to store meaningful cash/crypto etc! Though it was a weakness due to an individual again I believe, rather than the tech (just an individual at Revolut).

In practice, it's no more anonymous than a bank account unless you go to some lengths to avoid using exchanges or transacting with anyone who knows who you are. While unlike a bank account, the ledger is public, so once an individual is associated with a wallet, no bragging about its contents is required.
