Afternoon all
physio appointment this morning, good news is I have a diagnosis on what is causing the pain in my hip, bad news is a recovery time likely to be 6-12 weeks! I have a few sheets of exercises to do and will need to keep taking painkillers and staying as mobile as possible, if little or no improvement in 6 weeks I can self refer for more physio. Ho hum... she also gently ‘suggested’ that losing some weight would help, that really should give me the kick I need to be fully on the slinky programme so that’s what I have to do!
Flying news, dailies are being done and laundry is ticking over, I’ve menu planned and made the list so DH is going to go tonight after supper to get it out of the way, while he’s out I will try to fly a little so we don’t have to do everything on the weekend.
Paid stuff just finished, I need to feed the cats and make a start on supper.
Hugs GI, hearing things like that puts my problems in to perspective x
Take care all xx8 -
(((Hugs))) to GI and coping vibes to your DD and her fiance.
More coping vibes to Round's friend and GWS wishes to her mother.
GWS BadCat: I really hope it doesn't take 12 weeks. Good luck with Slinky too.
I seem to have spent most of the day at the computer but can see an end to this particular bit of admin/publicity. I hope to have 107 letters (each consisting of 4and1/2 sheets of paper) ready to deliver tomorrow, but I have to collate and fold everything by hand and stick the right labels on the right letters! But then I shall be able to clear up some of the mess in my study.
I need to wash and dry a load tonight so that DH can wear a particular set of track suit bottoms for his horse piddle appointment tomorrow.6 -
Hugs to you GI xx sorry I've been awol this week, not much flying done and lots of focussing on frugal living stuff which has meant spare time has been spent chopping kindling for the fire to keep us warmer! I'll try and catch up properly tomorrow xx7

Dailies done, bed stripped, bedding washed, dried (after a fashion) outside, ironed, pizza made and eaten. Not a lot else that I can remember, other than work and yet more trips to and from small town for school runs. Click and collect collected, 2 packages received from postie. Now I need to wrap and post, but not tonight.I also received a cheque back from a previous (good few years ago) mobile phone provider. I left and it was so painful that I forewent the £9 that they owed me, although I seem to remember following Pigpen’s advice to leave over an online chat, which did work better than on the phone. Today a cheque turned up to repay me. Cynically I assume that they must have been investigated to repay me after all this time...6 -
pots washed, kitchen put to bed. My turn now.

GI, sorry to hear that, the one positive is that if there is any chance that it is cancer the NHS will pull out all the stops to get him diagnosed and treated, and treatments are improving all the time. The emotional impact on everyone is huge though, I feel for you. I understand where you are coming from on the paid stuff too, and I dont have to deal with screaming babies!
I have had a long day at work but I am off for 4 days now. No idea what I am going to do but at least I don't have to think about work, and I can get up whenever I want tomorrow. That's a nice thought.7 -
More hugs GI, hope they get it sorted soon.
Nothing of a flying nature from me today; loooong assessment this morning and after all the sanitising, stopping off at C00p for this week's offers (1 of which didn't scan) I finally had lunch at around 3.30pm.
Mr N has been chasing the heating engineer yet again to get this final wiring done. Apparently they are doing something towards it tomorrow then our previous engineer is taking time off his new job to come down (about 60 miles) to advise them on how to do it. You couldn't make this up. In the meantime it's cold. With 1 degree already and frost forecast for a couple of days. The old range is still sitting on the drive so you have to walk round it to get to the front door, and there is another trolleyjack down the side of the house. Today Mr N contacted a local scrap iron man to see if he wanted it (yes) then spent time dismantling it - said he will take it off the bill as the engineers had already put disposal in their quote - but show no signs of moving it.
I'm not going to moan as I'm pleased to have the work, but I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed with 3/4 reports to write, a course to finish in the next 4 days, another in the next week and goodness knows what else. House, Christmas, flying. All insignificant compared to many people's problems so I need to just get a grip. 2 Zoom meetings tomorrow plus Zoom drum lesson.
Oh and yesterday I had a call from the doctor to say that sorry they had to cancel my flu jab for Friday as they only had enough for over 65s, even though Mr N is vulnerable so I'm meant to have it to protect him. Was about to book one at Mr T when the doctor rang again to say a new batch had arrived so I'm on again for Saturday.
I desperately need a run to de-stress, but I've been too busy!!!
Goes off muttering to pull myself together.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.9 -
