Back again...
Fingers crossed that DS and GF get their keys, Round.
Glad to hear that Mr Jazee is improving.
A pretty productive morning for me, given that it is a Saturday. DD dropped at work, and I have then:
unblocked the kitchen sinks, which DH ‘didn’t notice’ weren’t running away last night. Cleaned them and threw some soda down the plugholes whilst I was there.
wm x 1 done and wet jeans etc hanging indoors.
DR dusted and vacuumed, around all of DH’s work stuff and trailing cables 😡
Kitchen vacuumed and floor mopped. Broke the mop handle, which considering the state of the floor was definitely not due to overuse.
S&S bathroom and ensuite.
DH is now exploring the far end of the loft which is chocablock (??) with “stuff”. I can see what this afternoon's job might be.7 -
Me again
en suite scrubbed, towels, bath mat in to wash and fresh put out
laundry changed over, one load on to airer, will use TD for second lot as nowhere else to dry it
downstairs bins emptied and washed out with disinfectant
lounge and bedroom dusted, DH is wielding the hoover on that level now!
I’ve moved down to the ground floor and am going to work through utility room, downstairs loo and dining room, with duster and cleaning rags, then DH will come and hoover down here too.
once that’s done I think it might be time to have a bite of lunch, quite a productive morning so this afternoon will be read a book and knit a bit with maybe a little walk later on.
enjoy the rest of your day all, don’t work too hard xx6 -
So on my day of doing not a lot I have cleaned the fridge because there was a green spillage, tidied the airing cupboard to make room for the toilet rolls in our shopping delivery and made scrambled eggs for DH who can only eat at certain times around his antibiotics.
I have also done a little knitting, some online shopping (knitting paraphernalia and more dressings for DH) and entered some competitions.
I have broken a nail so I'm now going to make them all look pretty. Definitely the time of year for glittery nails.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Round 1 completed + changed towels in the bathroom and washed out the bin from DS's room.
WM load 3 now swishing. I took a pile of clean dry clothes and the cleaned bin up and brought down two glasses and a drinks bottle from DS's room. Also opened their bedroom window to let a through draught pervade upstairs.
Keys arrived at 11am - DS and GF were out of here by 11.30 am. I've just received a text asking of it's possible to get 'really small' washing machines. Hmmmm - I think so. Going to explore on Mr G. Better check they have room for the fridge freezer before I order that - that's my new home present

jeepers Kaz you gave me a scare - I thought I'd missed qualifying!! Just checked and it's on at 8pm for me. Note to self: avoid social media until then.
DS has sent me the video of the house. Parts of it are lovely and parts are weird - where the WM goes is weird. I've messaged him to reassure that nothing is insurmountable and if they don't like it there they can move on in six months. I resisted the temptation to say they can always come home. It's an adventure; they'll be fine.
I have laundry to shuffle

Hi all
Glad DH is improving Jazee, and likewise Kaz. Narco, have you still not got heating? Its freezing here today!!
Thanks GI and Fayolle that's comforting. DS wont have counselling, he doesn't want to talk about it and I dont think he ever will. I find it hard to talk about too, I only very recently told my brother how close we came to losing him, and no-one else really knows. DSs GF said that when she left DS in hospital and went back to Uni she cried for 3 days and couldnt even get out of bed, which is probably much healthier than bottling it all up. As with all these things it takes time I guess.
Grey and cold here. Done a Zoom meeting for my voluntary job, a bit more online Christmas shopping, spoke to MIL about plans for Christmas, she doesnt really want to mix with anyone even though she gets a bit lonely, which is fair enough. Going to do HM pizzas for tea so will put breadmaker on soon for pizza dough.9 -
I've ordered my 'special' Christmas cards and a New Home card online.
Spoke to Dad about plans for Christmas - he's the same as your mil YL he doesn't want to mix with anyone especially as he is due to fly to Malta on 4th January. As I'll be home alone now on Christmas Day we may come up with a SD plan to spend some time together - I thought he'd be with Barbara; Dad thought I'd still have DS and GF here -just the two of us might be able to work something out but only if he wants to. Back to the drawing board. I'll be glad when it's all over - I've turned into my mother!!!
Golly, DS and GF haven't moved out yet - but being home alone this afternoon is bringing home what it will be like when they've gone. Must remember that it's a new beginning for me too...

Must remember that it's a new beginning for me too...I have picked up DD from work. We popped into Mr T to get a few things as the Mr M online shop isn’t booked for another week. It was soooooo busy. Queued round the shop to get to the tills, and as we left they had started a queuing system to get in. Usually it’s pretty quiet at that time, otherwise I wouldn’t have gone in.
DD brought me home a leftover cake from work. It has disappeared in one go along with my cuppa. It’s a good job I did my Slinky weigh in this morning...
YS lamb steaks to throw on the griddle for dinner. I just need to rummage in the freezer and / or cupboards to conjure up something to go with them. Knitting time until then.6 -

A relatively early start for me this morning as I had a flu jab a couple of villages away at 9.30. In fact they were so efficient with parking wardens, lots of staff etc (it was in a village hall) that by 9.36 I had posted a letter, bought a paper and had my jab so was home pretty soon. Determined to carry on with my not wasting time life plan, I went for a run.
We'd put the portable mini-radiator in to warm up the bathroom first thing, so it wasn't too bad for me to have a shower then I moved it into my study.
Finished the ADHD course.
Scrap metal man came and took away the rest of the old range so the drive is now clear apart from the engineers' two trolley jacks.
Need to do something a bit more social and active after all that sitting down (2 1/2 hrs of the course) so it may be washing up or a bit of flying.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8
