Ooh yes lots of birthday wishes Ionafan xx
A nice day off the paid stuff here, a late start, a couple of hours out on the bike, some online Christmas shopping and some gentle pottering. Oh and I did give the kitchen floor a proper wash, it was filthy.
The nearer its gets to Christmas the more I keep thinking about last year and DS being in hospital. This is pointless and really not helpful, he is doing well and I should be overjoyed that he is actually here to celebrate Christmas with us. As DH keeps saying we have never really processed what happened and I sometimes feel like I bottled it all up and it is now seeping out of me bit by bit. That sounds a bit mad. Of course it doesn't help that DS thinks he is going to die and asked me the other day how he opts out of his pension because he will never get to use it.
However, all that aside, I really do feel OK, and grateful for so many things right now, despite all the Covid stuff going on.

Happy birthday Ionafan.
A foggy frosty day today, and the cold house not helped by the engineers arriving at noon (which was a good thing) but they worked till just before 5pm and had the garage and kitchen doors open all the time. Seems every room I went into had a guy doing something to a radiator so in the end I cancelled my drum lesson (having found one of them bleeding a radiator while crouching down by the drum kit) as I couldn't face setting up around them. An inordinate amount of work and now lots of spaghetti hanging out of the wall considering they thought the job was finished apart from some wiring. Seems they hadn't thought one sort of valve and wire system necessary so hadn't ordered/fitted it. Grits teeth. Final wiring still meant to be Tuesday.
Determined not to waste any time today as I need to get done many of the things I'm stressing about.
- Did Zoom teaching, went well.
- Zoom catch up part work part social with manager/friend.
- wrote some Christmas cards.
- Did first two sections of the expensive ADHD training (4 sections altogether totalling about 5hrs).
- did some knitting.
- sorted out some things to be posted
So quite pleased with my day so far. May get bit more done this eve although may just be knitting while watching news and Graham Norton.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Thank you for birthday wishes. I've had a very nice day, though not what I'd planned!
- bathed Rosie
- opened a lot of cards (mostly from the Old Wives) and some presents, including a food parcel of Welsh goodies from my eldest goddaughter nom-nom
- sent DH off to his first horse piddle appointment: yes, there is something wrong in his ulcerated leg, and yes, it will be treated soon, but no, it is not life threatening
- took in 2 deliveries of flowers (one bunch, one basket) and spent time sorting and arranging all the cut flowers
- DS1 arrived unexpectedly (he had an INSET day with no work to be done) and brought me a gift of a large roll of insulation, which he laid in the eaves loft off the study bedroom, above DH's chair in the LR - this was the area where water came in through the split in the dormer flashing all those months ago: repairs are now completeDS1 also decluttered a lot of the old computer stuff for me, but I am racking my brains to try to remember the login password on my laptop, so that I can download all my college work onto a flash drive
- had bread and Stilton for lunchand bara brith with my afternoon cuppa nom-nom
- sent DH to his orthopaedic appointment: the registrar was pleased with his BMI reduction and will see him again in 3 - 4 months
- took Rosie for a walk, keeping a close eye on her to make sure she didn't roll in anything nasty!
- came home with back ache, but falling asleep on the sofa didn't help it!
- cooked steak and chips for tea nom-nom
- sorted all the envelopes that I stuffed last night into delivery rounds, to be taken out tomorrow
- had a WA conversation with DD and DGS1+2
- arranged WA conversation with DS2 and DGS3+4 tomorrow
- and before I fall into bed I need to write a few cards to go in the envelopes and also type up some instructions to parents for filming individual scenes in our Toddlers' Nativity play

Happy birthday Iona (just!!)
Thanks for all of the good wishes re DD1's fiance. He has an appointment with the consultant next Thursday, so we will know more then.
Hugs to YL, and thank you for your kind, reassuring words. Be kind to yourself. Sometimes when we keep busy, the bad stuff we have packed away at the back of our minds can come out and surprise us. Take care lovely
Paid stuff was frustrating - baby is going through the clingy phase when he cries everytime I get up and walk away (only he doesn't cry, he screams!) I saw a couple of other childminders at the school, and it seems we are all struggling a bit. We have quite a good support system usually. Keeping my fingers crossed that my numbers come up this week! 🤞
DS's bedding has been washed because the kitten pee'd on it, including the duvet. Hopefully it was a one off! I have also vac'd the mattress. Apart from vacuuming the LR, putting on the DW & cooking dinner, that was all the flying done today.
Sleep well everyone! Night night all6 -

Rubbish night’s sleep, not sure what today brings apart from getting DD to and from work. DH is stressing about a wedding present that we have to buy for a SD wedding in a couple of weeks. It’s the only thing he has to do....gritted teeth.....
Hugs, YL. We are 5 years ahead of you, and I know that it is still the elephant in our room. DD also has days when she can’t get beyond that she won’t have a long life, and that is so hard to hear - especially when nobody knows if that is true or not. I’m not sure whether psych help would have helped or not, but at the time she didn’t want it. They did also offer it to me, but again I was too raw at the time to take it, and probably still am if I’m honest. Lots of love coming your way x
We have a lot to be grateful for, especially in these times.
Hugs all round on this foggy morning, I need to go and wake DD. Back later x6 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok today and glad that you had a good birthday Ionafan.
Saturday is now my day for resting. So apart from dailies (one wash load in machine at mo) I will only consider knitting, reading, watching telly/films, doing competitions, lovely walks or puzzling. I did this last week and was in a better frame of mind for the other days. In post Covid times I may also do exciting things on Saturday like going to the seaside.
DH is slowly improving which is a relief too.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Morning xx
Good to hear that Mr Jazee is improving. Hugs and positive/ healing flylady vibes to all flyladies and their loved ones.
DS and GF should get the keys to the house today- after a covid glitch. GF has finished isolating now, theoretically DS should isolate until Monday but there is no way that they will stay put once the keys are in their hands! They won't be putting anyone at risk so I'm not saying anything. They are only going to explore the house. Moving day is Friday 4th. I'm writing lists of things to do when they're gone. Glad I cancelled my week off- work will be a distraction lol.
Round 1 =

Morning all
I was up early, but not too early... I’ve had a nice leisurely brekkie and a chat with DH, then thought I’d better get started on flying!
wm x 1 is in and second load lined up
clean dry laundry folded and put in airing cupboard
office and spare room dusted and hoovered
bathroom swished over
litter trays emptied, washed and refilled
upstairs bins emptied
DH is just finishing off hoovering the top flight of stairs, needs doing again even though I only did it the other evening. I’m moving down swish over the en suite and start in the bedroom.
Glad to hear Mr Jazee is improving, hope everyone else is well. Back later with further progress report x8
