As a private seller I am looking forward very much to manage payments - anything I can do to get away from PayPal will be welcome0

I am very careful not to expose my current account to the internet, using credit cards and Paypal for most transactions, for the protection they provide and in the knowledge that any abuse can be shut down (relatively) easily without devastating my bank account.eBay have just advised me that they won't take a credit card account and looking around online I'm finding lots of comments about delayed payments to sellers (I wouldn't be sending until I see a payment securely in my account), I don't like the Cash on Collection fee and I really don't like having to sign permissions allowing eBay to charge their fees direct to my bank account.
I've been using eBay by default for about 15 years or so, today is day one of researching alternatives...As for other sites Amazon and Etsy both use their own payment systems and both pay direct to your bank accounts in arrears , exactly the same as eBay managed payments. So that really leaves you with Facebook marketplace and either cash on collection or PayPal (even though PayPal links to your bank account) .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I wasn't happy but things seem to be going OK (although not many sales at the moment) You can post straight away as you used to as eBay have the payment and they tell you to post.1 -

Yes I also opened a 'spare' current account for sole use for eBay and linked my paypal account to it (I am a private seller).
I used Monzo as it happens because of their instant notifications so I know immediately if there is any paypal activity.0 -

from the buyers prospective
if you hav say 6 items in basket and some are managed payments , if you click "pay by paypal" as opossed to paying by debit card , it splits items up and makes you pay the managed accounts seperatly0 -
eBay made me switch yesterday, now for an item that sold just before the change I have the buyer saying they are unable to make payment 'Unfortunately you can't use a debit card or credit card to pay for this order....' message box on the app - is this something to do with the switch? How should I advise them to pay? ThanksI think....0
