  • "Calls to 0800, 0808 and 116 numbers will be free from your mobile, just as they are from landlines."
The quote is from Vodafone's website. Lebara piggyback their network so that surely applies?

This is odd, as Lebara runs off Vodafone, so the phone being locked to Vodafone should not be an issue.
originally was on Vodafone but has been used on at least one other network, 02.
  • Yes, I thought the same thing but apparently not. I'm now in the position of having two active sims (Lebara and a Vodafone payg sim to get the phone unlocked) so it's backfired on me. Also, have just been texted an offer by Vodafone which may mean that I don't even use the Lebara sim in the end... Wonder if they knew what I was up to?!

I'd still want to know why a Vodafone sim works but a Lebara doesn't...   :)

Can someone clarify if 0345 numbers are included in the tariff. I have just called Lebara and have been advised they are classed as premium rate and not included, even for this MSE tariff. I have seen the following on their site, " UK or international calls do not include calls to 0800, 0843. 0844, 0845, 0345 or other "premium" or "toll free" numbers or personal (070) numbers" below the the All in one2 tariff.
I imagine the wording caused the confusion for 0800 numbers mentioned above (which are included)
Yeah, cheers but nah, I will stick with yes,  thank you and no.

    Thank you.

Interesting, as Giffgaff (O2) and Vodafone clearly state that 0345 (non-geographic) are covered in their bundles as a normal call. I'd like to see where Lebara are calling this a premium number, as the whole point of these numbers is NOT to incur a surcharge.
    Lebara's Rates page states...
"UK landline calls are those made to area codes 01, 02 and 03, excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man along with personal (business) mobile numbers 070."

I got the 8GB SIM for £3.99 for six months deal a few weeks ago and recently made a two hour call to 0345 number. It was free.

Thank you, I would have thought they are, I have them included currently. Based on your experience, I think I can take a chance. Don't worry, if it does not work out, I won't hold you to it.😉
Things don't always work out but it certainly sounds right.

I am still waiting for £5 refund from Lebara on a Good Friday SIM they charged me for. First they said 10 working days, then it turned into 14 working days. Now that has expired, I have been told the escalation takes two working days. Hard work and a long wait for £5.

Loads of providers are often confused as 0345 used to be local rate number.

I got the Lebara 10GB six month deal for £4.49 and it's been fine so far.
Missing 4G and WIFI calling but Vodafone WIFI calling doesn't support texts anyway.
