Hi Allsavingholmes said:I think it was the Poly one.
I went to Superdru6 and B00ts yesterday to get my eardrops and some more sun tan lotion and stumbled upon some bargains, L'0real Revitalift day cream for £1.30 and the filler serum for £1, I picked up a few of each, but left some for others.
DH's birthday today, got him a couple of little bits to open, all practical things as that's what he likes, and will get a take away of his choice tonight, obviously our holiday is our real birthday treat. Cases are almost packed and I am counting down my last 3.5 hours at work!! Paperwork printed, currency and passports to hand, get me on that plane!
Happy New Year to you all and I'll catch up when I return.

Hi All
Well I'm back after the most relaxing week away, we had the most fun, amazing meals and are already looking to rebook for this December/January and are planning possible retirement there in 10 years time. It was lovely and hot during the day and warm at night, we had the doors to the Juliette balcony open all night. Back to reality now, I'm sat in the office in my thermals, wrapped in a scarf and a full on thunderstorm going on outside!!
I popped to Superdru9 yesterday, needed a new toothbrush, got a C0lga@te L!ink one which B00ts sell for £20 for £2 and the packs of 2 replacement heads for 70p (£5 in B00ts)Sadly it was the last one or I would have got hubby one too. These are metal handles with replaceable heads and I'm really pleased with it.
DD has gone back to Uni now, we dropped her to the station on Sunday and have booked to go and visit her in a couple of weeks. The house is very quiet and the dog looks very sad without DD around.

Hi All
Just a quick post.
Got another bargain at Superdru9 yesterday, found 3 Tresemme dry shampoos for 50p each, plus I have £1 to use on my Beauty card so got all 3 for 50p! I was nearly out of dry shampoo, not something I use regularly but always useful to have on hand.
Been trying to use up stocks of food so made a large cottage pie on Monday that fed us for 2 night, bulked out the mince with loads of grated carrot and lentils. Last night was salmon and prawn fishcakes with a sweet chilli middle, wanted something healthy with it so got some bags of steamed quinoa and beans from Icel@nd, they were really nice.
Have a good evening

Hi All
Confession time from me, I've been keeping my head in the sand for a while now, ignoring what was obvious.
I've built up some considerable debt over the last year or so, I would say I'm not sure how but that would be a lie, I've bought loads of clothes, kitted out DD for Uni, had holidays/weekends away etc and really taken my eye off of the ball. Bits of debt here and there are easy to ignore, 'it's only £xxx, I'll soon clear that' but its built up and I've managed to pull it all together and get it all on to a 0% card (thankfully my credit rating is as high as it can be) but I have £5750 to clear! I will be clearing this rather than making mortgage overpayments for the next 8 months, which really hurts and breaks my heart, what an idiot I have been, I had got in such a good place, cleared previous debts, built my credit score and secured the house and now look at me!
This has really shocked me to be honest and I'm so cross with myself. This year I will be sticking to my spending budget, I have allowed myself £50pm which I am putting in a different account and have been transferring across as I buy bits and bobs (such as my Superdru9 bargains, which I know I didn't strictly need but I will use). I've allowed this money as if I go cold turkey and don't have any personal budget I will just end up buying more! I'm continuing all of my savings as they are my way of budgeting for Christmas etc.
On a positive, I've renewed my Car Insurance, renewal quote was £270, managed to get it down to £135 with better cover and breakdown and £40 cashback so under £100 for the year, paid up in full. Encouraged DH to do the same, his renewal quote was £480, got it down to £170 again with better cover and breakdown and £40 cashback, what a result!
I am committed to a girlie holiday in a few weeks at my friends timeshare so not expensive but definitely not a need, however, it is all paid for and my spending money will be the Euros I brought back from holiday with Hubby and the 2 months worth of Council Tax payments that we don't pay in February and March, hopefully I will bring some of this back with me.
Have a good weekend everyone.
