I have a tiny spend of 88p in L!dl for some onions, thanks to which we've now scored a £10 off voucher to spend in early January. That's our last shop for December, so I can now declare at £138.78/£140.40, leaving £1.62 to roll forward to January.
Happy New Year everyone.

Wanted to make use of this week's coupons on household stuff like dishwasher tabs etc so used some of my bulk fund to pay for that. Also bought some grocery bits for just over £20 which means I have come in under budget for December by £24.44 which I will add to my Bulk Fund.
I have had to use some of January's bulk fund to pay for the household stuff plus I popped to the butchers in the same town and used more of January's bulk fund to buy 4 joints of beef which will get used over the next few months. Have done my January menu plan and will only need one of the joints so 3 left for Feb onwards.3 -

Sorry haven't been on here much, been struggling in December as my Dad, who has brain injury, strokes, vascular dementia and prostate cancer is finally on his way out after a bout of aspiration pneumonia caused infection, which he fought off, but he's not really able to swallow any more. Got to say goodbye at hospital, and now he is back in the care home for the end of his life, and not sure if I can get to see him again now.
I've totted up the last few shops and milk payments and am ready to declare a total of £209.22.That's under budget, and we have eaten like kings. Alas, consumption of non-edible nice things hit our savings pot quite hard, so time to herd the moths back into the purse.
Nicer news...as of yesterday, our household has increased from two adults to two adults and one cat, so we will have to factor in pet food now. Well, have cancelled Weight Watchers for a start, besides, I think I know what I'm doing now. Plus, have too much cheese and chocolate to point. Will head over to January now and set a target.Keep reading books!
July grocery challenge START: £150.
total SPENT £127.53, REMAINING £22.37.3 -

Oh and I have to steal that phrase! I shall personally be picking up the 8-week blood sugar diet and resuming predominently vegetable based eating after New Year - and good luck with your New Cat!

At least you found out before you spent the money, @pamsdish. Happy belated birthday for the 26th. Hope you were spoilt rotten.
Age is a number, not a defining characteristic. Personally, I want to get kicked out of a nursing home when I’m 99, for corrupting everyone else. That’s my life goal.
