MIL passed to DCBL now to Connexus 4 years later

Hi guys, you were all really helpful when I originally posted way back in January 2015, so wondered if you could help again please? Original NTK was dated November 2014 although no ticket was given. I followed all the advice given and sent all the letters suggested. MIL passed it to DCBL in December 2016, I then had the Notice of debt recovery then the Legal recovery action letter in January 2017, to which I responded with the suggested letters. Now almost 4 years later I received a letter from Connexus saying Next Step Action. The have given me 14 days and if no payment received they ‘may pass the account their field department who may send it to a doorstep representative to visit me before it is passed to legal to carry out a pre legal action report’.
I did note the use of the word ‘may’ in the letter, which is why I would appreciate your advice on how to respond again, especially as it has been 6 years now! How long can they keep sending these letters? Surely there must be a cut off point?
Thank you

No. They're never going to send anyone over, and it's statute barred at 6 years.5

I hope their field department reps don't step in moo poo, and I think it would be very entertaining to see someone representing a doorstep. I wonder if they would squeak when you stepped on them.
The (alleged) debt will always exist in England and Wales so they can continue to send pointless letters from powerless debt collectors for as long as they like, but the scammers will not be able to start court action once six years has passed from the date of the alleged event.
In Scotland, it is five years and at that point I believe the debt no longer exists.
This is a last ditch attempt to frighten you into paying.

Are you sure it's related to a parking charge, because a quick scan through Google and their website suggest they're into housing rent arrears collection. Or do we have yet another snout in the private parking trough? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Why would a debt collector like DCBL, which seems to be hoovering up any and every outstanding parking charge on planet Earth, pass on just this one to another debt collector, Connexus, having had it already passed to them by yet another debt collector in the shape of disgraced MIL? Makes no sense.Something smells of fish! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum.
