just filled in the remedy thingy and it suggests a DMP...it says that I have to send a certain amount and they will split it between my creditors...but they do not have my name or address????0

Hang on in there - I have got to go to work now, and this board gets quiet up to about 9am while people take their kids to school etc, but stick around and you will get lots of help this morning. If it goes quiet here, it is not because people don't want to help, just hitting one of those quiet times about now!

Hi, from what you have put and advice others have given, I cant add anything, but I want to offer support and say you can do this! Trust me, we are all in this together and will help each other through. It sounds bad, but with a bit of self discipline and support, you can do it.0

Just come of the phone from Barclays trying to get my OD increased till payday...no chance basically....so in will come another 3 x 30 quid letters....fantastic...no chance of them consolidating either....so it is looking like the DMP route....
Is anyone else on this route and what in actual fact does it incur?

Morning,
Please don't get yourself too upset (easier said than done, I know!) you have come to the right place for excellent advice and support.
I have over 60K of debt and am just about to make my second payment to Payplan after setting up a DMP. I haven't looked back yet and am glad I finally did something.
Have you posted a full SOA on here for people to look at? It's amazing what others can pick up on that you just don't see.
Take care, xx0 -
Topsy,
Just wanted to say hi and echo what other people have said. there are many people on this board who have been / are in a similar situation. You've taken the right step and faced up to it. You can now move on and begin to sort it out! Believe me, you will feel much better and in control again.
Keep us posted!

Hey Topsy...
I joined this site thinking I would sort everything out and then disappeared and stopped posting. Am just realising that all the support in the world from these guys is brilliant, but you still have to do it yourself. Think I thought that joining this forum would solve all my problems! Keep at it and try not to lose sight of why you're here... which was my problem!!

Hi Topsy, can't believe it I've just done the longest reply and it's lost the lot!!! Ok here goes again.
I am on a DMP with the CCCS have been since August. Basically what you need to do now is call them. You have done most of the paperwork already by filling out the online form. It works out how much you owe you creditors then how much all you other outgoings are such as water, electric, then how much you need to live on e.g food, clothing, petrol etc. It then takes this balance away from your incomings leaving you a balance which is what you pay in to your DMP each month. You send this amount to the CCCS, i do mine by direct debit, they then distribute it to all your creditors, some will get more than others depending on what you owe. When you have called the CCCS they will send you out a pack and in it will be a letter which you must send to each of your creditors explaining you are on a DMP with the CCCS together with a reference number for them to use when they contact them. You will need to send a token payment with this letter, say £5, less if you can't afford that much, as it will take a couple of weeks to set the DMP up. You must set up a new bank account one that does not have any connection with any of your debtors, a basic account with no overdraft facililty. I use the Alliance & Leicester as i got a debit card AND a cheque book which is a luxury not many give. And that's it!!! You will get hassled by phone calls morning & night to start with it's hard at the beginning but believe me does get easier. You must not pay them anymore money as much as they bully you as this will jeopodise your DMP. The calls will stop eventually, you can ask that they contact you by letter if you wish. Always tell them you are with the CCCS and they must contact them, if you get any problems at all or do not know what to do call the CCCS who will sort it for you. It's as easy as that so give them a call tonight they are open until 6pm, they are brilliant!! The relief you will feel when you've done it will be overwhelming believe me. Our debts are alot larger than yours and will take forever to pay off but we're doing it and finally have our lives back!! I wish you all the luck in the world, will be thinking of you, keep posting they're fantastic on here!! xx0 -
Hi there
I don't have anything to add to the above but wanted to send you a hug and let you know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I had nearly 30k debt in March last year and on 10th of this month it will be around £5800 (won't know for def until 10th). It can be done. You've been given some good advice so far and we're all here with you.
Sira, i think your post is fantastic! What a huge encouragment for the OP :TDebt at LBM (March 2006): £30,000
