I have definitely crossed a couple of things off the ToDo List today, one of which is to do a bank switch (done).  So I've rewritten the list and still have 22 items on there -:smiley:  Its okay though as I know I am adding stuff as well as taking away.  Some things only become apparent as you finish other things.  Its definitely a tidier list, at least it isn't growing and its nice to have everything written down - leaves my head a bit clearer.  I'm on track to start the new year with a much reduced list.

You're right I need to concentrate on recharging myself.  I put a lot into work and have been focussing on that, but I need to work on relaxing too.

I haven't been for a jog on my own lately - that always recharges me - just me and the road.  Reading has taken a back seat and I've been tending to scroll the phone - I've a lovely list of books to tackle.  Sewing and art are on the back burner while I wait to reclaim my space at Easter - but the Xmas sacks will be a good start, plus I'd like to make a start so maybe I could treat myself to some pencils and an art book.  Oh, and my breadmaking has been quite enjoyable, I've got the Paul Hollywood easywhite loaf on screen at the moment so that will be my Sunday treat to myself tomorrow.
Reminded me of the film what women want...

I think life is to short to wait until Easter to do things you love. Glad you are making your xmas sacks and enjoying breadmaking. Perhaps make time to do some of the other things you enjoy too... I recently found myself beating myself up for have used 8 colouring postcards of 20 in a day.... that worked out at less than £3 spend for hours of enjoyment.... I am beginning to realise I become ill if art isn't a big portion of my relaxation time.

Like you I'm looking forward to moving my desk out of my living room... Soon I'll have more space and choice over where I put it.

Tell me about it savingholmes.  C19 has not been good for us introverts who recharge when they have time on their own.  But life is too short, and if I can't find that alone time at home, then I need to find it elsewhere.  A run, a sit in a nice cafe on my own with a book, a massage - there's lots of escapes if you put your mind to it.

Off I went for a lovely time out on my own this morning savingholmes - headphones in and just me and the sunshine.  It was really refreshing, I almost didn't want to go home (there was no moaning and no-one asking me to help them with something) it was lovely.  But I felt loads better when I got home - definitely recharged, so am going to make time for that in future.

I know debtfreeoneday  😂😂😂talk about looking to the future.

I had a bit of a disaster day moneywise (well not really a disaster) but I spent over £100 in one of my fave shops and showed them my 10% discount card which they agreed to take off, only for them not to and me not to notice until we were home (£10!), then we had a takeaway and they left off a dish (£3.95), then today a parking charge notice arrived for one of the supermarkets - I've challenged it as I still have my £100 receipt for that day - it was my own fault as I had totally forgotten about the time limit, but I'm planning not to pay the amout (£30 - that they kindly reduced from £70) at all.  I need to up my game with this moneysaving lark again - in times gone by I would have been on the ball for a 5p overcharge - its amazing how it can all add up.  I think it does show how the personal recharge of energy is so necessary.  I'm chill about it all, spilt milk and all that, but thought I would just off load on here and hold myself to account.

Edit - oh and one final thing - I did self scan around the supermarket and accidentally scanned my leeks three times instead of the two packs (95p).  Tomorrow will be better.

  • It’s a new week!  I think we get more annoyed as we all try so hard on the money saving.

Thank you debtfree and savingh, it has definitely been better so far.  My recharge was lovely - I didn't get another today, but I'm going to make sure I get some space tomorrow    Its chilli night tomorrow, so I'm going to add lots of veg to the mix - definitely peppers, a couple of finely chopped carrots and a courgette plus a few fresh chillies.

Only went and did a self scan shop again today - this time I managed to double scan the onions and a bar of chocolate.  The supermarkets are making loads out of me   Seriously though I need to take more care from now on, this is ridiculous.  I was rushing around, but I'm going to take my time in future.  Amazing chilli - finished it off in the oven, so I'm really happy at having had such a warming but healthy meal with lots of leftovers.
