I still have one or two of those phones with the batteries I think in the drawer for some reason. But I will definitely book an appointment and a trip to the shop and see how it goes. I really don't want to buy a new one if I can help it, and I could get a battery replaced at a non-fruit shop but it was more expensive - and then it gets into the realms of its better to buy a new one."Think of many things, do one"

Thanks SH.
My bank switch has happened and I'm all logged in and have had the message that I qualify for the switching bonus - so should be £125 in my new account soon. I took advantage of the interest free overdraft so took £1k, although I don't have any need, I thought it might come in useful as I want to buy a new table later in the year (will buy on credit card for points initially).
It was great that I already had the account set up for the mortgage, so logging in was really easy. The only issue I have is that when you make a payment, there is a card reader machine that has to be used. It seems a step backward and there doesn't seem to be any other option (with Barclays there is a card reader option or you can use the app). It means if I want to make a payment or transfer when I'm out and about it won't be possible as I won't be carrying the card reader with me. These apps are all so different.

Great news you have started running again.
Maybe you need more sleep as that makes brain fog worse no matter its causeDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I hear about the bank thing. We joined one a year or so ago and like you had to use a little device thing to authorise payments. Felt so backward!DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

I agree with how irritating it is to use a separate device when your phone app could do it if they just invested. I want to do a switching bonus too - as soon as the mortgage goes through next week - I will look at offers.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well my switching money arrived - so I'm £125 richer today
But I think I might just be looking for another switch one day in the future - we'll see how using the device goes. I'm so used to being able to transfer money when I'm out and about but its not like I do it all the time. Maybe I'll get used to it and there are definitely benefits to having just one app for both mortgage and current ac. It really does feel backward debtfreeoneday its amazing how all the apps have developed with their differences - some have developed further than others. Very irritating savingholmes when you are used to just logging in with your fingerprint. I've got to say I was a bit hesitant to switch exactly because I wasn't sure which had the better apps, but I really appreciated the cash going in today.
Hi LadywithaPlan, I definitely need more sleep. I've started putting the computer away earlier now (bit later tonight as its Friday) and I've started reading. Last night I picked my book up, felt sleepy and put it straight down and tried to go to sleep. But it didn't really work so I ended up reading a bit more and eventually I nodded off. I do feel better for doing that. Exercising is really good too, but here I am and I've hardly got out this week apart from one trip to the gym and one run. I've slipped from my plans this week, so need to get sorted again.
The switching money will come in handy as I've bought a few Christmas pressies this week, what with Black Friday starting early again. Still haven't ordered the xmas fabric though, but I must do that in the next week or so. I seem to have ended up with a lot of vouchers to spend: £25 Boots (birthday), £10 M&S (from a reward), then there's the £10 Amazon, £35 Nectar points and £10 Tesco to spend on food and household items. I've got plans for all of them

I'm so glad the weekend is here. For some reason looking back this week I've felt there hasn't been much time. Its been busy work-wise, but that's not the reason that I've not drunk water, exercised or let my diet stray in the last few days. I slept quite well again last night, reading helps me nod off and I seem to sleep more deeply - which is probably more restorative. Maybe I'm getting used to the shift in sleep, but it will be good to try and get back into my healthier routine again over the weekend.
A big achievement this week is the switching has gone smoothly and all the payments have updated (and the £125 received).
I also made it to the opticians and have new specs on the way. I've got one of those cash back accounts so I put a claim in for that, it doesn't cover the whole amount but its always helpful. I always seem to claim more than I pay in, so I'm not sure how that works, presumably some people claim less than they pay in.
All vaccs (flu/covd) either done or booked as well so I'm pretty much there with the health things on the to do list. Incidentally the to do list is down to 21 now (a whole one crossed off). But there are a few other things which should be crossed off this weekend. I didn't touch the to do list all week and had to search for it a minute a go, but it was nice that the list was there holding all that stuff, so it doesn't feel out of control.
Thanks savingholmes I'm popping into M&S to the knicker and bra department later to spend my £10. I'm slightly irritated that you can't spend Boots' vouchers online (another one in the dark ages!). I had another 500 xmas bonus nectar points yesterday - not sure why as I thought I'd had them all, but I won't say no. I haven't had chance to do any canvas surveys this week either, I think time shrank somehow.
update on the new debit card app - I've just made a payment and didn't need to use the little machine thingy. Maybe its just first time payments its needed for. Maybe I need to do some more reading.
