As mentioned please get in touch with your full name, address and DOB in a direct email (from my profile) and I'll have a look for you.
Thanks, Matt0 -
Thank You to Matt (E.ON Representative) for getting the "tick" removed from my paperless billing box. At least now I should get a bill through the post and that's a start.0

Why do you need to print and take your bills to the Post Office though? If this is because you are paying at the PO using the paying in slip and cash or cheque on quarterly billing, then you really are shooting yourself in the foot. The vast majority of competitive tariffs require you to pay by monthly DD.
You have online access to your account, so it's time to move into the 21st century if you want to save some money on energy. No free lunch, and no free laptop1 -

I can see that cheaper tariffs are available if I go down the Direct Debit route but most of these also require the installation of a Smart Meter and that's something else I'm not sure of having heard so many tales of things going wrong with them.

FiestaRed said:A number of years ago I had Direct Debit with a different supplier and was paying far too much and it was a great struggle getting the overpayments back. You're paying far too much at the moment, and you won't get a penny back on legitimate bills just because they are expensive. Nor do you have to pay at a post office if you don't want to set up a Direct Debit.
- You can write a cheque payable to E.ON Energy Solutions Ltd, and post it to:
PO Box 123
Nottingham
NG1 6HD
Remember to put your account number and address on the back of your cheque.I'm surprised that the Official Reps didn't mention these options. You really are making a rod for your own back.FiestaRed said:I can see that cheaper tariffs are available if I go down the Direct Debit route but most of these also require the installation of a Smart Meter and that's something else I'm not sure of having heard so many tales of things going wrong with them.2 -
@FiestaRed I endorse what Gerry says.
Every day that you dither is costing cost a £1 --- to me its a no brainer. Time for the 21st century.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill2 -
Thanks for the help and advice.
Is there any way I can use a filter or something similar to point me to a supplier that doesn't need Smart Meter installation? I found a couple of suppliers with good deals and it wasn't until I read their terms and conditions that I realised part of the deal was a Smart Meter.0 -
As Gerry has already said :
"Umpteen cheap suppliers don't require smart meters. I've been with Yorkshire, Avro, Neon Reef and umpteen others and none has required smart meters. Another rod for your own back."
I'm with Zog and Green Network Energy and neither has asked me for Smart - but I would welcome them if they did.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill3 -

I found a couple of suppliers with good deals and it wasn't until I read their terms and conditions that I realised part of the deal was a Smart Meter. It's very easy.As always, Citzens Advice is a good place to start because they show all suppliers and they also rate of them for customer service.. Having entered your details, click on the cheapest supplier's 'Next Steps' icon, then click on 'Additional information'. Under 'This deal' you'll see all the 'Plan information' that you need to know.If you don't like what you see, hit the back button and find the next cheapest. Rinse and Repeat, and remember to check for Electricity Only and Gas Only to see whether separate suppliers are cheaper.Double check with your chosen suppliers in case there's been a last minute change or a new tariff launch, but of course you have 14 days to change your mind so there's no absolutely NO EXCUSE not to SWITCH TODAY !2
