  • he consumer has a duty to make the goods available for collection by the trader or (if there is an agreement for the consumer to return rejected goods) to return them as agreed.
I can confirm the goods were available for collection how many boxes can a Consumer keep for 6 months its impossible, two weeks is reasonable, then it becomes unreasonable and the item is deemed fit for purpose, why would they sell faulty items, which need a box to be kept for over two weeks, when they deliver a Item they remove the packaging as in my case, so how do you then deal with this, Consumers are misled by bad advice, I think but I am glad most of the advice here was good and reliable for a Consumer
  • To be honest, even if they offer a goodwill discount on a further purchase I would not buy anything else from them.
They have already shown that they either don't know and understand their legal obligations or that they simply don't care and will only abide by them when pushed.
Richer Sounds give a 6 year guarantee and John Lewis a 5 year guarantee so if you know the exact model you want, why not see what prices their websites show.
  • The facts of this post confirm to a Consumer if you have a faulty product and its been less than 30 Days register a complaint in writing, offer them chance to replace and repair or reject the goods, and ask for collection, do everything in writing do not call them at all as this will be evidence later.
Yes the advice to contact the Credit card Company is good advice but you will not get any answers for up to 8 weeks as that is the time they say they need to deal with the claim.
In my case I joined which legal for £29.00 the advice was promt to the point and by a qualified lawyer I have never used them before, but my son is a Doctor he advised me to join, it took so much of my worry away, they are now dealing with a issue I have in another post where some of the persons there gave incorrect advice, I am so glad I came to this Forum for my TV, and joined which, the Consumer needs protecting as the legalities of the Consumer Rights Act are for Consumers but they just need guiding to use the appropriate section to their complaints, unfortunately Companies simply dont care any more thats the truth maybe its Covid maybe its a change in times but so many people are being ruined when they should be assisted - the law is there but remains silent until you invoke it correctly - be wise be pure be patient and above all help any poor soul who needs this help and try and guide them to the right advices

I think Hughes eBay ( where the OP bought from) sells older models at discounted prices. Richer and JL likely to be more expensive , although that is where I buy my TVs to take advantage of the longer gtee
  • Thank you Photo me  I have noted your advice

I agree with you 100% my money will be spent wisely from now I can see that fully now and glad I learned the hard way through two transaction one with Southall travel posted here and this one now, I will be very careful as a Consumer from now, all Consumers must not allow any advice which is negative to form a opinion on the actual law, this is just a forum and should help guide not question you or your actions - on the other forum too many wise guys think they are the law and offer advice by ridiculing the Consumer, this is horrible and I am sure that the purpose of this forum is to help and assist and not hinder this to new posters who come here as a last resort, when they have no where else to go, but it appears that a lot of people probably working for these companies, also post on the likes of Tripadvisor and other forums, perhaps they also do the reviews for some of the crap Companies out there, lets hope not

I thank everyone who tried to help, the negative ones and them up themselves can go take a hike and get a life it appears they have nothing to do other than try and make a Consumer feel bad - They need monitoring as some of the advice given is not at all  helpful and can hinder a average Consumer - too many experts here who think they are judge and Jury, please never post up details on here if your looking for tea and sympathy as i was advised on trip advisor LOL - Really how arrogant
