ah zigs! Fingers crossed you don't get it and dh and ds get well soon. Sorry to hear about dm, is there anyway she can get some carers for a few weeks?
I also am not feeling well so got a test. Haven't got the main symptoms but I've felt retched the last few days so took one to be safe. Hoping the results come through this morning as I think I probably haven't got it and will have to cancel my eye test if t doesn't. Last time I took a test my results came back at 6am the following day.

Morning all
Someone is coming around later to look at some broken roof tiles. We are in a 70s build so just concrete ones. Could do with the moss being removed too.
Lovely and sunny here so l'm grateful for that 🌞
Trunk work has ground to a halt. We only have 'normal' polyfilller. I'm not keen on using this, think the right stuff is needed but alas the miscellaneous pot is empty until payday next week.
Getting £25 cashback from an energy switch l forgot about, putting that in the loan overpayment pot!
Need to source some logs for the burner. Always a but if a chore plus carrying them around to the back of the house. Needed though especially for the festival season. There will be even more PJ time than usual this year!
Have a good day all x5 -
Festive not festival 😂😂 my festival days are definitely over!!4

Hi all
It's quite sunny outside at the moment and l'm about to have a break to take something to the post office. Think l might sweep your leaves from the drive too. Make the most of a little sun.
Has anyone ditched watching live tv and cancelled their tv licence? I think it might be a stretch for the Mr to get to this, but l have made murmurs about Sky again..we always put Netflix on in the evenings. If we ditch both that will be a £45 a month saving.
Having said that, I think if you got enough use out of netflix and weren't worried about much telly, go for it. I don't miss it tbh. We pop dvds on, or I tend to not watch anything (OH needs something in the background while he stares mindlessly at his phone)
Do be aware that they will send you a lot of letters that are quite threatening in tone - if you are easily worried, they might be quite upsetting.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.315 -
Morning folks
@ziggy2407 - eek, I hope DH and Ds are ok and that you are too
@determined_new_ms - Hope your test comes back negative and you feel better soon.
@alt80 - I was in the position a couple of years ago where I had been working overtime (12-14 hour days and often weekends) for about 8 years. It's fairly standard in my industry and and it was in my company too. Unfortunately, it led to myself and pretty much everyone that I was close to at the company having some sort of physical and/or mental breakdown. I ended up off work for about 5 weeks then on a phased return over about 3 months.
If you can give up the out of hours work before that point, I highly recommend it! I found that the more we gave, the more that the company was happy to take. Essentially we were just masking the training and staffing gaps and the poor management by doing the extra work and extra hours, and we were emotionally manipulated into doing it by thinking that you were supporting your team. Then as the senior team got ill and fell apart, it just got dumped on more junior staff anyway.
Didn't post yesterday as wasn't feeling well myself but it was def one of my "funny turns". Been like this ever since last year. Just have to ride it out. Feeling better today luckily and the weather is much nicer. It was very dark and grey yesterday. Not feeling so great in myself but I just need to keep plodding forwards and hopefully pass through it.
OH is still in bed as he had a late night. We were supposed to be doing a running workout today but I think I'm past the point of fancying it. I'm feeling like I might head up to the allotment by myself soon. Oh might be up soon-ish or it might be another hour or so. I have some digging to do which feels like a reasonable substitution for running.
Today's small things:B/L/D from stores. Forced myself to chop some veg in preparation and give the fridge a wipe down while I was in there
Make a meal plan and a shopping list for tomorrow
Do something useful. Possibly allotment related means it's dry and bright
Zoom workout at 6pm. Am booked in so have to do it.
Heating probably off as quite warm still. We still have the summer quilt on! I got the gas/elec bill today. we are using more gas and elec this year as you can imagine, although the monthly dd has stayd the same atm.
Have a good one all
clf x
ps: forgot to mention that I did make the Christmas cakes on Monday and whilst digging out the tins, took the opportunity to switch round the tin cupboard and the booze glasses cupboard and give the shelves a good clean (had been planning to do this) and decluttered a couple of items (Baileys glass and ice bucket). I realised that I'd done a stupid thing by putting all my baking tins in a barely accessible cupobard that required me to drag everything out to get a tin. I still need to drag stuff out but at least the door opens fully and stays open on the new cupboard! (the person who designed my kitchen was an idiot).LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.315 -
Sorry to hear you are not feeling right CLF. Maybe some allotment time will help. I used to garden when l had more time and there's something therapeutic about being in tbe fresh air working the soil and picking what you've grown.
Thanks for the tv advice, think we will sit on it for now.5 -
@carrielovesfanta hope you get well soon.
It’s my business don’t expect it of my staff. Tbh I could coast as I am putting about 20 hours a week in but want to grow and earn more.5 -
Good day on the work front today.
Not sure why stuff is taking so long to sell - was hoping to reduce debt further than I have this month through selling again. Losing a bit of patience for it - know I shouldn't, wife managing it generally probably should have a look at what she's doing and what offers we are getting through if realistic and wife is thinking she can get more or if they are just taking the P.
12/11/20:
1. X7 things up for sale. 4/7 - same no progress.
2. X3 exercise ( just upper body x2 and something else x1 with foot issue wife will come up with something no doubt ha) 1/3. Did have a walk.
3. Update expenses/ cards spreadsheets. Still not done this hardly spent any money so shouldn't be too big a job.
4. Finish work 6.00pm and switch email off. Had a bit of a break but back to it after son went to bed all could have been left to the morning tbh scheduled emails to go out 8.30am ha but couldn't help myself lol. Better working than spending!! Did make a bit of time to talk to few property people one looking to change who he uses for management of his portfolio so hopefully a nice little job there.
5. In bed for midnight. Tired now so should manage 11.30 with wife again.
