I left Npower around 3 years ago, they kept sending me emails to arrange a smart meter install. The second one I replied saying I don't want one, they had given me dates for the install. A few months went by and again I got an install date, that particular date I would be holiday, ignored it. They obviously didn't turn up. Anyways I moved to Igloo, they been fairly cool over meter install, I contact them if I want one. Seem ok but I think they are starting to get s bit more pushy although not sending me dates for install yet.

I am with OVO. They are getting more and more insistent about me having one. Just ignore the letters and emails. I am happy to read meters every month - not difficult. I imagine the time will come when it is the law but until then.......no
  • Did you actually read the Terms and Conditions of your tariff ?
They could change you to a different tariff if they cannot update your meter.
Smart Meters are great, no more faffing about doing your own readings, accurate bills and a dinky little IHD which you can use if you want to.
I beg to differ tell me how hard is it to supply your own readings and a useless IHD that will be put in a drawer in a couple of months
Smart meters are not very smart another step along the way to big brother
