The nuns/kittens are referenced many times on this board and I am confused as to why.

I did an internet search to understand the term, and the search results indicate that the phrase is used informally to refer to what could be described as "working ladies of the night".   There is nothing to indicate that the OP is running a premises of ill-repute and we should not suggest the same.

If the pole was at the end of the garden behind a shed and op didn't realise it was in his garden until the shed came down then if the previous owners didn't erect the shed there is a good chance that they were also of the same mindset, hence the TA6 wasn't wrong.

Let's face it, it took the OP 2 years to discover the fact and the only reason that happened is when the shed was removed, so there is nothing obvious to indicate that the previous owners were aware of the fact unless
    a. They were resident when the pole was erected, or
    b. They erected the shed, it didn't pre-date them.

Must have been a bloody big shed to hide that.

OP did say pylon, so that is exactly what I envisaged

And not quite as small a garden as the OP suggested to fit all that in.

I take it to be people would be very upset if anything happened to nuns or kittens due to their innocence and being cute (respectively).

Can't see how OP didn't look to see where the pylon / pole was when viewing the garden.

  • Not sure how many people are being ironic, or whether they really don't know the nuns/kittens reference .......

It comes from the absurdity of the situation ... nuns carrying baskets of kittens being involved in incidents is absurd ...... some of the stories we see here are equally absurd, hence the reference. :)

I think you'll find that house is actually a kilometer behind the pylon, only very very large indeed. I believe a basketball player lives there.

Is he planning on putting up a shed?

What happened to the original shed? It seemed to hide the pylon before, why not put it back and 'hey presto' problem solved
