Received email from Shell, that informs me there will be no exit charges but must pay a "Cease Charge" of £15
I find this to be unethical and leaves me with a nasty taste in my mouth. What does MSE think?0 -

I'm fairly sure I went thru MSE, but how do you know that the charge doesn't apply?
Is there any MSE Staff out there who can verify this?? How do I contact MSE directly???
I really do not want to roll over to any Conglomerate!!!
Otherwise for MSE referrals it says on their promotional terms and conditions you won't get a cease charge if you move after the end of the contract0 -
Hello, I have just received an email from Shell regarding cancellation and the fee is £226.87 (but no details as to what this comprises of were included). I received the email about the price hike on the 10th Dec and then put in a switch request on the 26th. My switch is dated to occur on 13th Jan. Am I right in thinking that because I have notified them that I am switching to a different ISP within 30 days of being informed of a price hike that there should be no cancellation fees? Currently the notification has come from the process of switching to another provider but I have now (27th Dec) emailed Shell directly to say I am leaving due to the price increase. Am I doing the right thing here?
I have found communications with Shell to be very poor I joined them in July and have had speed problems from the start which have not been resolved. They booked an engineer for Christmas Eve who didn't turn up. This was their last chance to redeem themselves.0 -
You need to notify that you will be cancelling due to price rise .ISP led switch is a break of contract .

I notified them by email today but this was after the ISP led switch notified them previously. Is that still good enough?0
