It's clear Shell are still trying it on with the cease charge, if you signed up via Money Saving Expert refer them to

    Broadband Promotional Terms and Conditions
    Policy version: 5.1.16
    Policy date: 16/09/2020

    Where it states
Customers signing up to Shell Energy Broadband (12 month) products through moneysavingexpect.com will not receive a Cease Charge as set out in our Terms and Conditions and Price List if they leave outside their minimum contract period.
    Sorry me again...
I signed up via Money Saving Expert in October 2019 and left 12 months later, in October 2020. Cannot find the policy version/date related to last year, stating the same thing as the Policy version: 5.1.16 of 16/09/2020 you quote.
    Thanks again.

Emailed ShellEnergy, quoted the Broadband Promotional T&C you mentioned and... I got a refund of the cease charge. And a good will £10. Thank you Mohammed1111!

Is there a link fot T&C Policy version: 5.1.16? I tried to google but did not manage to find it.
  • I’m also going to get back my cease charge (probably won’t get back until Jan 21 because final invoice already issued and system won’t see applied credit until mid Dec, then takes 10 WD to process plus then it will be Christmas.) No goodwill amount offered to me.

hi, my 12 month contract is up on the 20th dec.... does any one know answer to the following question please...

If I move to another provider a week before so that the move takes place a few days after the 20th (so I wont be charged the £15 fee), but will I then be charged for the full month upto the 20th jan?

If yes, then I'll can delay the move three weeks before 20th jan?

    Thanks

I'd suggest changing the date to after your 12 months, otherwise they will more than likely charge you as their terms say MSE customers that cancel outside the 12 months won't have a cease charge applied.

Not sure how to navigate directly from Shell's website but just found the above.

thanks, do you think they will charge a full month after 20th or just for the days after the 20th till my transfer day?

If you've switched to another provider except Virgin media then Shell should only charge upto the transfer date.
