No shows and cancellations

Today we had another person drop out of a viewing 3 hours before from a booking they booked 17 hours ago which means we have 5 out of 14 bookings have cancel or become no shows with most booking cancelling less than 30 minutes before.
With our previous agent we would have maybe 1 in 5 cancel as well.
I've been told this is normal for London. Are people really that unorganized?

maybe they found something better or genuinely had things crop up"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Some will take a drive by between booking a viewing and decide they don't like the road/location.

As a person who has cancelled the odd viewing (never with such little notice out of respect) - It’s always been when the estate agent has almost forced us into accepting the viewing, which I’ve done out of awkwardness.I’ll often call to see another property and they’ll rope me into viewing another property that’s perhaps quite nearby. They’ll book me in to a viewing prior to us even seeing the details, and when the details are eventually sent, I’ll call to cancel.
Perhaps this is what’s happened in some of those cases... Not definitely but something to consider.2 -
People need to be really motivated to view, the price lever is the main tool to achieve that.-1

It is really frustrating, I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned and missed some fun times with friends because of viewings and when they didn't turn up did take it too personally.£216 saved 24 October 20140

same happened here this week. one cancelled at 9 am for a 10.15 viewing. another rang up the night before and asked if it was worth him viewing as he can only afford 20 grand under asking price.0

Same thing here, a day before at least, but there were two booked in, one wants to reschedule apparently but no date set. All par for the course I suppose but frustrating and disappointing! It’s such a weird time as well with lockdowns and further lockdowns/restrictions threatened.0

Many people phone in sick to work with 20 minutes notice, 1.15 hrs notice to a total stranger is pretty good IMO, as is being open about a small price drop needed, much better than the seller getting their hopes up showing somebody round then getting radio silence when asking for "feedback" later.lillypoo said:same happened here this week. one cancelled at 9 am for a 10.15 viewing. another rang up the night before and asked if it was worth him viewing as he can only afford 20 grand under asking price.0 -
My no show was the seller who failed to turn up to show us round for an evening viewing. From the exasperation in the estate agents voice, not for the first time. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Most people phone in sick to work with only 20 mins notice (or less) because otherwise there would be no one in the office to take the call.Crashy_Time said:
