well the second vaccine has been announced by a different company, stocks in IAG already up slightly, but not as much as last week. I'm still holding out for a bit more of a drop and then going to load everything I have into them and another one

If it hadn't been for those meddling scientists and their pesky vaccine we'd be deep in the middle of Covid Crash #2.
I'm sure something bad will come along to make up for it, we've got brexit/brino to look forward to & that is the gift that will keep on giving.
I tend to agree but this thread (and all the others like it) shows it's pointless trying to call the next crash. If you want to know the cause of the next crash you'll need to wait until after the event and even then there won't be agreement.

So, Chicken Little is getting hyper because a 'vaccine' has dropped from the sky. Best not tell the chucky wuckies that clinical trials and testing that normally take years have been bypassed.

Instead, can  I burst a few bubblesby pointing out there is no medical cure for a bad economic condition, no matter what those nice people in white coats/voices in your head are telling you..._
  • Hi all,
Am I reading this correctly, that the sluggishness/falls in tech stock/funds is a result of the vaccine announcements (ie less reliance on tech comms anticipated).
    Thanks

I'm also predicting a crash or something at an unspecified time in the future.

The worst case scenario is that, having not been properly tested on them, a rushed mass vaccination kills off huge numbers of the elderly and chronically ill en masse. (Healthy people aren't going to be affected worse by a crap Covid vaccine than they are by Covid itself, i.e. not a lot.)
While a huge human tragedy, this is a thread about investment and such an event would have virtually no effect on the stockmarket. There would no longer be any grannies around to protect with lockdowns.

Basically yes. Zoom et al have shot up as more companies have gone more digital. With a vaccine the assumption is that move to digital, now being optional, will slow down affecting tech company earnings as projected pre-vaccine.

Otherwise known as a different guess.
