Few more spends today. I have a hospital appointment tomorrow that will last all day pretty much so I nipped into M&S and grabbed a £10 pizza meal deal, I know that it isn't great but it's better than a takeaway! then off to lidl for my actual shopping, mostly bread products and pack lunch stuff (shocking I'm sure) and some 90p reduced chicken for the freezer. I spent £26.98...on the way to car I remembered I forgot to add laundry determent to my list so I had to nip back in so another £1.52. MY total stands at £432.48 so just over £17.50 for the week. I have meal planned to do me until Friday but hubby might need a drink while we wait at the hospital tomorrow and I might need more fruit later in the week, I noticed a bag of my oranges were mouldy while I was paying so I have a bag less than I had planned plus I found another 3 iffy ones when I was putting it all away. We'll see how it goes. if I do go over it won't be by much.

I'd take them back and get a refund, or take photos of them and send them to their customer services email address, they'll probably send you some vouchers.

  • We are at £251.48, to say we are over budget is an understatement.
    Should only need OHs milk.

OH dinner : egg, ham and cheese toastie.
My dinner : vegetable stir fry with noodles.

    £251.48/180....
    £71.48 over.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
  • I have added £13.48 to the total, which is £11.48 at the butcher on local honey, a pastie and chicken kiev.  The chicken kiev is enormous and does me two meals.  The other £2 was spent on milk and biscuits. (Biscuits needed for a very late lunch after 3 hours on the allotment).

Just updating from last Thursday's shop. Except I went again on Saturday, naan breads forgotten, no Lidl/Sainsbury rice crispies, very few mushrooms left as on offer. Total for both days £28.01, running total £83.68.

Should be under £125 but not the hoped for £100 for the month. 🙄

    Evening All.

I have a small spend to declare from Sunday, £2.60 in L!dl, on mushrooms, muffins and a four-pack of breaded chicken schnitzels.  We made the latter into “burgers” with the muffins, for Sunday lunch.  (Ate 2, froze 2).  This brings our total for November to £139.40/£140, leaving 40p for the remainder of the month.

We shouldn’t need to spend anything else this month, because my MIL gave us a bag of carrots, a bag of onions, a bag of potatoes and some peppers when we visited her on Saturday.  (We’re bubbled with her.  She needed something fixed.). There’s plenty of meat and fresh milk in the freezer and we still have a dozen eggs.

On the meal-planning front, dinner tonight is homemade pizzas, using some tomato sauce I made earlier in the year from our crop.  The dough is resting now.  They’ll be dressed with oven roasted peppers and mushrooms, sliced chorizo and grated mozzarella.  Dinner tomorrow night will be homemade steak pies.  (I’ll combine some lean stewing steak with the “jus” left after I cooked lamb shanks in the slow cooker for dinner on Saturday, and cover with a homemade pastry crust.)   Since I’m making pastry for tomorrow, I’ll save some and we’ll have a quiche on Thursday.

Last shop of the month, spent £46.97 in Lidl (bought a bit more than usual to be able to use their £5 voucher), £25.26 in Morrisons and £8.21 in Asda. Got a few things for Christmas in the Lidl shop. So just under this month's budget of £180, total spent £175.28. Don't know what budget to set for December though.
  • Fingers crossed, last spend of the month taking total to £212.21/250 but still several days to go. Here's hoping  :)
