Strange MOT history?
Options
I am considering buying a used car, a Skoda Octavia, which is 3 years old this month. I know that it's first MOT was due this month. I checked its history on DVLA website, and it has already had, and passed, 5 MOTs!
The first one was June 18, then another in Sept.19. Then a third in May 19, another a month later in June 19, and finally another in Jan 20.
Seems very odd to me. I don't think it's been a taxi as the mileage is low, and corresponds to the mileage on the various MOTs. I can't ask the owner as the car is for sale at auction.
Does anyone have any idea of circumstances that would explain the need for all these MOTs?
Thanks!

Taxi/private hire vehicles need MOTs every 6 months.0

The mileage is low though. And it's had an MOT more frequently than very 6 months. In 2019 it had one in May and another in June0

I wouldn't buy it.Most likely it is an ex-taxi, depending on the location, they have an MOT at 12 months and one every 6 months thereafter.Really nice cars don't usually get to go through public auctions. The mileage on the speedo may not be the mileage that the majority of the car has covered........The youtube guy who does up salvage cars has an octavia that is costing him an arm and a leg to bodge up enough to get shot of, ex- police I think that one is.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
