Aerial setup - what is labgear box in loft?

I’m not sure if this is useful information but the previous occupants had Skytv. They had one tv in the living room and the other in the bedroom with the bad signal.

Your picture shows that it is an old poor quality amp compared to today's standards, where the amplifier circuitry is now shielded in a metal box to prevent interference.

The LHS of the circuit board confirms that it needs a power feed to work and the RHS shows a badly terminated co-ax cable with a loose strand of the co-ax shield which is not good.

As you need a power supply, you may be better getting a new amp and power supply.

This document shows that this old model has been succeeded by the PUM141.

you're asking about the box, but you havn't said if you are using sky/freeview or if you are getting any picture from your good point.

No I just took it apart to see if there were any issues with the cable

I’ve put everything back and rescanned and only the dtv terrestrial channels are working. ITV, channel 4 or 5 are not working
