If I assume an Inverness post code and 2300 kWh a year  I can find Symbio and PFP Energy at £27

I'm still unclear as to what your issue actually is?
If you signed up to a tariff and have changed your mind, then you have 14 days cooling off period to cancel. Beyond that, you are contracted.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I would hazard a guess that from OPs first post they did actually switch to the higher rate, higher standing charge, higher direct debit tariff.

By activating the link that the company "Scottish Power"? sent them.

Perhaps it is now passed the 14 days cooling off period?

My switch was to be with E.ON, but the links in the mail from them 1 would not work just a blank page. The other one asked me to input certain details which was different from what was asked for prior to using the link. They were also charging more than my current provider.

So what is your question? If you haven't signed up fully via the link, then start again and pick the provider of your choice. If you have, then cancel if you are within the cooling-off period.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

As you were coming to the end of your current deal and if you inputted usage etc correctly.
then the Uswitch comparison site would have shown you the most competitive price that they could transfer you to.

    With your usage.
Here it is EON at an additional £66.77 per year or a DD of  £33.22 per month

However I am assuming?  you did not click on the Uswitch filter button to include plans that require switching directly through supplier?  If you did ? click on the filter button then you would be looking at the most competitive of all providers.

Clicking the filter here  the site then changes to:
Symbio at an additional cost of £11:93 per year or a DD of £28.66 per month.

That is why the CAB and Switch with Which sites are recommended. No filters. All deals

You would expect any new deal to be higher than your current one as prices have risen in the last year. So you would be very fortunate to get a cheaper deal than the one you are now on.

It is very unclear what the issue actually is?  By reading both your threads?

I understand what your saying, but Scottish Power don't make it easy to contact them. Sending an email activates an auto response that can take two days the reply to me if the reply at all, if the do its an email I cant reply to as its not monitored.
They also tell me there is freephone numbers & live chat. They are like politicians IMO liars!

I don't know why you are even considering trying to talk to SP  - if you let your present fix roll over at the end of November you will end up paying about £40 a month, whereas you can pay over £10 less with a different supplier.
