Energy Supplier Switch

I used Uswitch to try to find a better supplier. I was offered a price that was higher than the monthly DD I was paying. The cost per kwh combined with the daily standing charge was also higher. The company I was attempting to switch to, sent an email to activate my new account. What they asked me to do did not match when I clicked the second link. The first one only opened a blank page. I haven't switched yet, would you ????

Uswitch are not the best site to find another supplier as they prioratise the firms paying them commission
Look at the  Citizens Advice energy site - This lists every supplier without fear or favour

Hi dogshome, I tried the same on MSE Site's Cheap Energy Club - compare and got the same result as I did with Uswitch.

@Pnokio - in doing your comparisons have you used your ACTUAL annual kWh ?   You only refer tp DD.

As previously suggested, use Citizens Advice so that you see all suppliers, not just those that pay a bung at your expense.

Hi Robin9, I used my current Direct Debit as I have not been with my current supplier for one year yet.
The company I was attempting to switch to estimated I would use 4m690 kwh. My daily average is 6.335 kwh.
I got the same result using MSE Cheap Energy Club search as with Uswitch.

You do realise that the first figure is double the second.

What do you calculate your annual consumption (in kWh) is ?

Its easy to calculate (assuming this is only electric, gas is a little different) - just take an ACTUAL reading from a year ago and one from today

4m690 is a misprint, it was meant to be 4,690.
    On 10 Nov. 2019 reading was 26480kwh. On 06 Oct. 2020 it was 28577.
    = 2097kwh used in 330 days.

@Pnokio 2097 in 330 days is about 2500 KWh  a year .  Put that figure into Citizens Advice and see what choices you get.

Assuming those consumptions are from ACTUAL readings.

Some suppliers seem to get some odd figures for the Estimated Annual Consumptions.

Not sure where you live but in London, your consumption of 2300kWh would be £335 annually on a variable tariff or £385 on a fix.

OP, is this gas or electricity? You can't transpose gas meter readings direct to kWh, only electric.
If these are electricity readings and this is an all-electric house, then the readings are unfeasibly low for nearly a year's usage.
