Here is a good starting point, posters who have submitted applications for set-asides.  The first one was like you "minimal understanding so the jargon throws me" 1 July at 9:08PM <<<< This is a link and here is another one: -

    Many thanks.
One of the many issues I have with writing an appeal is that I don't have any information about what exactly they are claiming. I don't know, where or when I would have parked incorrectly, nor with which car as I had three cars during the last 1,5 years. Also I have no other information about this agency rather than the name the Court gave me today and the case number showing in my credit score.
That means I can't even defend myself properly because I don't even know what I have done wrong! Or maybe I even haven't and they just make it up. I have no control whatsoever over this issue but still they are ruining my life.

Send a Data Subject Access Request to the Claimant's Data Protection Officer to uncover all the information they have about you.

As above , GDPR came in EU wide over two years ago , so an emailed SAR to the DPO at CEL will flush out the details and clearly the offending vehicle will have your old address listed , hence to where the paperwork went at the time , a default CCJ ensued due to no reply , a typical scenario

Attach copies of 2 recent redacted utility bills as proof of I D under the GDPR law with the email SAR

There is no appeal here , you will be applying for a set aside , as mentioned earlier

If granted , you will be defending , defending the original court claim that originated from a CEL PCN attributed to the offending vehicle when it was registered at the old address

So no appeal at all in this process

We don't set the rules or justice or legal system , so we can only advise you on your options , but feel free to seek legal advice from a lawyer if you don't like the replies, you are playing the game whether you like it or not !!

No-one ever does, your case is the same as all of them and we tell you what to do.  Your case is no different to all the CCJ set asides.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes, but with the difference that the rest of you is British, knows how it works here, what to do and is able to explain yourself in decent English.
For me however all this stuff is just a nightmare. I have no idea where to start with this application, what to write, how to explain a judge in half decent English why I didn't know about all this till yesterday and so on.
On top I am just afraid that he will refuse it and at the end I will have to pay £255 and still owe £297 to the court for something I don't even know if I have done it.
I simply can't  pay that much as moving to the UK has really messed up our financial stability and we are struggling to come from month to month even without fines like that.

No, we help people here literally every week, for whom English isn't their first language.  Very common here.  They win.  They get their CCJs set aside and many get the £255 ordered to be repaid by the parking firm.

You haven't read the CCJ set aside examples linked in the NEWBIES thread yet, have you?
