I received a PCN for my work hire vehicle.

  • Why did you appeal by email if that wasn't offered as a route to appeal, on the PCN?  Makes no sense.
Because I was given the option to, I received an email confirming it has been received and the PCN will be frozen.
This morning I received a further email stating the appeals portal is open and they are not accessing appeals via email.
It was convenient for me that is also why, but thank you RedX I will pop the appeal in the mail instead.

Get free Certificate of Posting from your Post Office counter, don't just launch into the nearest post box.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Use the portal, don't post...a complete last resort, only for PPCs that have no portal.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ok, so do I complain about the lack of relevant options in regards to a hirer/keeper to the BPA? The portal has no option for me to select

Just choose the last one, which is the only one without ''I did this'' in it.  It's clearly the one to use.

I thought about that last option but decided on 2 alternatives instead

I never mentioned popping an appeal in the mail !!

I was quite specific in how to mail it as Umkomaas pointed out
  • I'm not sure about using any other choice from the portal other than what would be specific so the best option is by mail. Obviously I'm not going to just pop it in the mail, just a turn of phrase.

But never ever send anything to a parking company or their solicitors using any service that requires a signature.

All that does is give the intended recipient the opportunity to not sign and hence refuse delivery.

All you have then is proof of non-delivery. Not quite what you want.

If you want to use Royal Mail, then send it by standard first class post obtaining a free Certificate of Posting from the Post Office counter. The item is deemed delivered two working days later.

Keep that Certificate of Posting as proof.

This is why using the portal and taking a screenshot is better.  Tick the one that doesn't say ''I''.

AVOID POSTING ANYTHING TO PARKING FIRMS.
