Hi today I did a whole day at work 7.30 - 7.30 and I still made ds dinner (cooked in oven before I left) and a picking him up from work at 1 am ... later all in all to support him in his first day at work. There is so little work out there for youngsters, that I proud he has gotten something!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Thank you for starting the thread this week @carrielovesfanta
@alt80 both my Dad and OH's Dad insist on paying when we do things together. We have decided to think they do this for love whatever their own motives. OH's Dad is renowned for not demonstrating his love in any other way! Whatever you think FIL motives are, treat them as if he has done it for love for his family - his daughter, Grandson and YOU. Remember to say acknowledge his actions with a quick "thank you FIL" If he has that is good, if not he will see he is not getting a rise out of you which will deflate him. Possibly also a quick mention to your wife when you are home how kind/generous FIL had been (no sarcasm), which will please her and probably get mentioned to the parents. Good luck it can be a difficult relationship.

Thanks all for perspective. Had an awful day today rage at about 100 lol. No time to really think about goals but have sold £750 which I’ve paid off one of the cards and also managed to get some fresh air with dog and son.5

Good Evening
Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.
Thanks for starting us off today @carrielovesfanta , hope all those feeling under the weather pick up soon.
@AdsWhoAdds - Thinking of you, sending lots of best wishes, hope all is well.
@alt80 - Small steps, you're doing great - just think tomorrow will be a better day and count your successes from today
Not much done here today as up to date with everything. The covid situation/debacle is starting to get to me, we are level 2 and following the guidelines but seem to be in the minority - neighbours either side are both still having (lots of different) visitors daily. So today looked like this
Checked Bank & make PAD
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Check: Lucky Bob, PMP, WinaDinner
Swagbucks
Posted RM Survey item
Purged a few emails
Entered a few comps
Bought new TV after quite a bit of investigating/troubleshooting and then realising it was repairable (thank goodness for savings as wasn't expecting it to pack up)
Night all

sounds like you've got a plan. Will be amazing if you can stick to it and a year isn't too bad to pull the reins in. My oh & I spent a year going hell to leather and paid off £16k over 10 months. It was hard and we sacrificed almost everything for that year. We set ourselves a challenge that anything we wanted to do for fun had to come from additional monies raised by things other than our salaries. We ebayed everything no longer in use, did surveys, had foreign students - which actually paid for us to go to Thailand.I get paid on Wednesday. This is my first payday when l will be using virtual pots for budgeting everything and all remaining monies will have paid off the loan. I am aiming to clear it by next Christmas, it's very ambitious but even if l don't make it l will be much better off than l am now.
I have some Ebay sales to pack up and l have some Christmas presents to finish knitting.
Shopping coming tomorrow, only £45 spent including delivery. My freezer list is paying off! Butternut squash soup in the slow cooker at the moment for lunch tomorrow and spare for freezing.
Heating is on for a short burst at the moment. I bought a Teddy throw from Elm Mill Dun, £8, so warm it was a bargain!
Good luck with it!DF as at 30/12/16

Morning
I have no plans to leave the house today, so I would like to make the most of my time to tidy this place up a bit.
Plans for today:
🌺 NSD ✔️
🌺 Wash my hair with the everlasting shampoo bar ❌ rolling over to tomorrow
🌺 Let my hair dry naturally ❌ rolling over to tomorrow
🌺 Take and submit metre readings ✔️
🌺 Enter a couple of competitions ✔️
🌺 Write a shopping list based on the meal plan ✔️
🌺 Check the bank accounts ✔️
🌺 Dry the washing on the line outside ✔️
🌺 Charging Tuesday, Bluetooth speaker, wii remotes, dd phone if needed (she has a dumb phone so holds the charge quite well) etc - not strictly money-saving but buy having a day where we charge things means they are ready to use when we want to which saves frustration and spending on batteries, if an item runs out of charge at another point in the week it will get charged then and only topped on Tuesday ✔️

Hey folks
Late to the party today as my working hours are going to be lates this week - 1 til 9! Bit weird and it's put me a bit sixes and sevens tbh. I woke up late (as planned) but kinda wasted my morning today, I need to be more organised tomorrow. Although OH and I walked up to the allotment for a quick check there (only 20 mins or so each way) and it was nice to get a bit of fresh air.
Nothing interesting mse today, just the usual of food from home, staying at home etc! Do need to sit with OH tomorrow morninng and do the SoM budget.
Have a good one all

Thank you @determined_new_ms 🙂 it seems manageable to do it full on for a year. I'm quite excited to get paid an call to pay some off tomorrow, it will drop into the 10s instead of 11k. Credit card debt has already gone for this year so already achieved something to be proud of.determined_new_ms said:

Just caught up on the thread. Hope you're not flagging too much @carrielovesfanta BTW do you still love Fanta?

@AdsWhoAdds any news? I hope no news is good news ((((hugs))))
@DawnW what's the update on the WM Saga????
@ziggy2407 sorry it's getting to you. It's such a difficult time isn't it? I feel very concerned for those people in Tiers 2&3 and hope the Government gets behind people fully. I guess all we can do is take in all the advice and information and act on our consciences. You can only do you, and I have learnt much to my dismay I can't control others or worry about what they do
I've had an eventful day. Was working and madam with dd but needed medical attention. so had to get emergency leave, drive pick up madam, drive to the other side of the county and get her seen and come back to work. Totally wiped me out!
So given that I haven't done much:
* drove as fast as I could so shelled out unplanned petrol - luckily earnt some extra cash this last month
* ate from stores
* fixed a blind rather than throwing it out
* used some peppers before they perished. We currently have stuffed peppers roasting in the oven
* going to have a long soak in the bath after I've eaten and read a book from shelf. I think I picked it up at a community book exchange in a little village near me. The old telephone box now houses tons of books free to take
will drop it back, and another when I've finished
