jediknight49 said:steve_k98 said:well there's nothing from BH gone in my back today so if there's nothing either tomorrow or monday i'll be on the phone to them first thing monday to chase it up again.
when i rang on wednesday they said that it would take 2-4days to get sorted & the money to go into my back as they would use BACS,
i explained to them that i am in the process of transferring onto universal credit & that it would about 4weeks till my claim was sorted & that during that time i was liable for my rent but i was unable to pay until the redress from them was in my bank.
they said that now they had my bank details they would transfer the money & to check my bank from friday onwards.
i explained that this had put me in a very difficult situation, they said it was all be sorted & treated as a priority,
well lets see what happens on monday,
Well its not been paid.
Hopefully, all being well, it will be in my account by COB Monday or Tuesday next week.
I told them of my hardship previously, and reiterated again this week to them.
They said I'd get priority and yet its still going through the channels of calculation and sign off at no great pace. Its just a joke.
During all this, thje supposed posted cheque has failed to arrive. I don't believe its ever been posted.
Letters offering apologies and compensation are being sent today and hopefully, there's that word again, we should have them by next Friday.
As for the cheque not being posted? I've been thinking that all along,
It's the waiting game that's doing me, that & the fact I feel like I'm being fobbed off each time.
But all I can do is wait, but like I say if nothing there Monday then on the phone raising hell,
When all this is over I will be making a formal complaint to both the FOS & the FCA.2 -
FCA don't deal with consumer matters, don't waste their time from their actual job. The FOS is the route to takeDon't make unfounded allegations like them not sending the mail - much post is delayed. I have a weekly subscription box, prior to Covid it was sent Saturday, would be on Monday 99% of the time, post-Covid it turns up Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. I donate blood samples for the Bio Bank corona research, I've had a confirmation text each time they get my sample, I post in a priority labelled post box and it looks like only 2 / 5 samples actually got delivered based on the texts.0

As for false allegations? No where have I said I made any it just seems strange how letters from the dwp who also use UK mail are getting through despite being sent 2nd class.
The whole situation smacks of the fact the letter never being sent & now they are back peddling.0 -

The whole situation smacks of the fact the letter never being sent & now they are back peddling. The FCA website does not tell you to ring them about PPI complaints, the FCA is the regulator of the finance industry, they don't deal with individual PPI complaintsFalse allegations - you are claiming that the company lied about posting a cheque to you. Can you prove that?0 -
well here's a link to the contact page at the FCA
https://www.fca.org.uk/ppi/contact-us#:~:text=If you need a response,helpline on 0800 111 6768.
if you look at the top it says "you can contact us about PPI by phone or email", which i did & the lady i spoke to was very helpful & said that i had done the right thing in calling them.
also, as for a false allegation of the cheque not being posted? well, considering that letter stating how much was due to me (dated 17/9/20) states that the cheque would be with me no later the the 14/10/20, yet it never arrived, called them & got told it might've got lost in the post, rang a week later & got told the person who signed them off & made sure they were posted was off at the time, yet as jediknight49 says earlier that they were told that a batch of 100 cheques had been left in the back of the UK mail van but were found & discovered on the 17/10 & that they would be with us in the next few days,
then when i rang a few days later they said that they could see most from the missing batch were being cashed & they couldn't understand why i hadn't received mine (& not had jediknight49),
now, one cheque getting lost in the post i possible, but two or more at the same time going to different parts of the country? hard to believe if you ask me.
so, someone their end is telling a few stories.0 -
well I've just got off the phone with BH (after nearly 30mins on hold) & they say that it was all sorted on Friday & that the payment (using BACS) should be with me in a few days.
i again explained my situation & that if payment was not in my bank by Friday morning/lunchtime (at the very latest) i would be calling back to make a formal complaint to them & request a same day payment (which both the FOS & FCA said that i can do & that BH CAN do whether they say different or not) & that i would then be taking it to the FOS to take it further as the way this has been handled is completely unacceptable, due to the fact that i have been told several different excuses the first couple of time i called.
so. if nothing by Friday then i start the complaints procedure.
the clock is ticking for BH.0 -

so, someone their end is telling a few stories. If you read the link you posted it states very clearly to contact the firm or the FOS to complain about PPI. If you read their FAQs again, they make it clear you complain to the firm and then the FOS not the FCA. The FCA does not deal with individual PPI complaints, they're the industry regulator. I'm sure the lady you spoke to was very nice but they're call centre staff, they're there to try and help but they are still going to tell you eventually that PPI complaints go to the FOS not the FCARegardless of your payment woes, if you make the claim that the cheque being issued was a lie, then you need to back it up with proof. Your anecdote about the delay is not proof of anything - post goes missing, maybe it was delivered and someone helpfully filed it and forgot to tell you, maybe a lot of things. Proof is key here.

i know that, i am only going on the advise that i was given by the FCA, & i am only doing what they advised me to do,
if you know any different then please do say!
your comments are not very helpful at all,
as for the "anecdote" of the cheque not being posted? well it's not just down to me to prove it was never posted it is also down to them to prove it was, as each time i was told something different but who ever i spoke too.
i base my claim on the fact that all other letters from them arrived without a problem yet strangely mine & a few other cheques get lost in the post, can you explain that one?? i'll wait.
as for my payment woes & financial situation, unless you have been in a similar situation & have anything constructive to add to this thread which could help others in the same situation then please do not post/comment anymore as your "comments" are far from helpfull,
so. if you have nothing constructive to add then please steer clear.0 -
Well I checked my account when I got back earlier & I'm glad to say that BH had used FPI & the money was sat in my account including an extra £75.
At long last it is all over.0 -
