  • well the postman has been, still no sign,
just rang the FCA to see where i stand & they said that i can ask BH about paying the redress via BACS as they say it does seem strange that the cheque has not yet arrived, & that what i was told each time i called does not add up/make sense.

they also said that i should mention the fact i am on benefits & that i am transferring from normal/old benefits onto universal credit & that i am currently in financial hardship.
i was also given the number for the BH/Lloyds complaints department if i wanted to make an official complaint about how the claim has been handled, mainly due to the fact it has taken since april 2018 till now to get the claim sorted & finished & the tales i am getting about the cheque arriving.

looks like i'll be calling BH again today.
also here's the number i was given for the complaints dept 0344 824 8888 if thts any help to anyone.
  • just got off the phone with BH & i explained my financial situation & the lady i spoke to has made the reissue of the cheque a priority & said that it should be with me in just over 5days but if the original cheque arrives before then to call them back & they will cancel the reissue,

she also said that they could ses the cheque were posted on the 17th & that some were being cashed now.

just got to wait (again) now.

heres the number is used to get through 0800 074 4313 i hope that will help a few out.
  • Forgot to add, that BH said they had confirmation that the missing cheques had been posted on the 17th & that they could see some were being cashed.

So that shows they are on the way to folk who are waiting for them.

I was told today that the cheque posted on 17th are infact new cheques and not the original ones.
Tbh not sure what to believe.

What i do know is that i don't have it and won't wait anymore for it.
    Escalate to a complaint tomorrow.

  • well all i can do is ring in a few days as they said they would issue a new cheque as a priority re issue & that it should be with me very soon, but in the mean time if the original arrives then i need to call them straight away to inform them,

if neither happens by the end of the week then i'll be taking it further & escalating it to a formal complaint.
  • well it looks like this could finally be sorted,

rang BH on monday & explained my situation in regards to financial hardship & the lady i spoke to said she would push it through as a priority re issue, & that it would all be sorted in a few days,

well the postman came & went today & still no sign of anything from them, so being bloody minded i decided to call them again using the direct dial number above.

well when i got through i explained to the lady about my situation & what was said on monday.

she said that they should've taken my phone number on monday but forgot to as they needed me to send them proof of my bank account as they thought it was a different bank to Lloyds.
i explained that my account was with LLoyds (has been for 10yr's), she asked me to hold the line while she looked into it.

she came back a few minutes later & said that because i banked with lloyds that all she needed was my account number & sort code, gave her that & she said that they would now issue payment as a faster payment but it would take between 2 - 4 working days to go through.

so, fingers crossed it's in my bank by tuesday next week, wednesday at the latest.

    so, fingers crossed.

Yep, i did same thing Monday.
They want to pay my Halifax CC account but i said thats a CC, i want it in my current account which is a different company.

Sent pictures of my bank card and told them i require payment without fail this week. They need to recalculate the payment again but 'hopefully' it will be there by Friday.

I doubt that tbh. Same as the cheque arriving last Friday or this Monday. All bull imo but we'll see what happens.
  • well all i can do is wait & see, i said i'd give them till midday Tuesday & if no sign (again) by then i'll be taking it further.
  • well there's nothing from BH gone in my back today so if there's nothing either tomorrow or monday i'll be on the phone to them first thing monday to chase it up again.

when i rang on wednesday they said that it would take 2-4days to get sorted & the money to go into my back as they would use BACS,
i explained to them that i am in the process of transferring onto universal credit & that it would about 4weeks till my claim was sorted & that during that time i was liable for my rent but i was unable to pay until the redress from them was in my bank.
they said that now they had my bank details they would transfer the money & to check my bank from friday onwards.

i explained that this had put me in a very difficult situation, they said it was all be sorted & treated as a priority,

well lets see what happens on monday,

Well i rang them at lunchtime today as i too is awaiting BACS payment. Was told on Monday that should be by Friday.
    Well its not been paid.

Hopefully, all being well, it will be in my account by COB Monday or Tuesday next week.

I told them of my hardship previously, and reiterated again this week to them.
They said I'd get priority and yet its still going through the channels of calculation and sign off at no great pace. Its just a joke.

During all this, thje supposed posted cheque has failed to arrive. I don't believe its ever been posted.

Letters offering apologies and compensation are being sent today and hopefully, there's that word again, we should have them by next Friday.
