PAS 232 Consultation .... A response

King Canute moments! If they get clamping back, ANPR cameras would be straight in the bin. What better than 8.4 million motorists clamped per year, with no need for DVLA KADOE access, saving the skimdustry £21million per annum. What's not to like? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

It all goes to show how utterly desperate the entire private parking 'industry' is getting, together with their fellow conspirators, the unregulated so-called debt collectors, and the shyster solicitor firms who do their dirty work.
For a long time, the BPA has publicly welcomed the introduction of a single CoP, and a single genuinely independent appeals process. But they probably thought that they would be able to write all the rules for that, and that has turned out not to be the case. The committee responsible for drawing up PAS 232 does not have a majority of parking industry representatives on it, and that is reflected, even in the first draft, which the PPCs are squealing about.
The public consultation has drawn numerous suggested improvements from informed consumers and organisations, in contrast to the hysterical rantings from the parking industry, copied and pasted complete with grammar and spelling mistakes.
All of this, combined with the 80+% drop in revenues due to lockdown, will drive many of them to the wall. And not a moment too soon.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.13 -
YES, a ticking clock which will firstly affect PPC's and then the very dodgy legals
Right now in Wales, it is a scammes graveyard

If this is the level of journalism in on-line publications, I am glad I did not subscribe to them: -
Private parking enforcement companies want claiming and towing to return
Shame the article did not mention the PPCs attempts to derail the consultation by spamming it with obvious copy & paste comments (including the same spelling errors).

In that article above, no doubt the lobby was started by Captain Clampit ?
This is just cloud dreaming from a very scared industry whose only desire is to scam money.
This is parking companies V the motorist. Are the government prepared to upset millions of motorists who are voters against a handful of cowboys ... of course not
If some of these parking companies go bust, who cares, there is no place for scammers/cowboys in todays world. Dream on rogue traders3 -

I saw comments about clamping from the PPC's on the consultation. They have not got a snowball in hell chance of clamping returning. The whole point behind the new CoP is to curb their aggressive activities and create a fairer system.
Captain Clampit could retire to his hotel/pub and ensure that standards are kept up. No more mouldy cheesecake on the menu. He could take up pot washing, seems like it needs doing.

I guess that SRS has not woken up to the fact that he is NOT the most important person, he is just part of the rabble who farms car parks. He will have to obey the new CoP to the letter or risk losing access to the DVLA
With the new CoP, he like all the others will be on a lead and all the bluster in the world, he will have to bow down to the end of the scam. If he does not like it, who gives a monkeys t*ss2 -
"If he does not like it, who gives a monkeys t*ss"
There won't be any bail outs.
