Free Cinema Tickets - Discussion thread

I can understand peoples frustrations at non Cinema Code posts in the thread. However, when people read the title with 'No Chat', they probably don't consider a question or comment chat. Perhaps you should entitle it NO QUESTIONS, COMMENTs OR CHAT PLEASE!

I think you could be right Sarah, some posters may think it means no off topic chat.
A different title has got to be worth trying, I'll PM Heather and ask if the title could be changed

I've thought something similar for a long while.
However I'd also add something like "READ POSTS 1 & 2 BEFORE ADDING YOUR OWN !" or "READ POSTS #1 & 2 FOR IMPORTANT THREAD RULES".
These 2 posts already contain most of what the thread is all about with a link to this discussion thread for "non tickets" postings.
I think a few additions to it, some changes to the existing text using BOLD, UNDERLINED and WARNINGS IN RED TEXT to emphasize and make clear when it would be OK to add to it.
Also make it clear that adding a post will literally send HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of EMAILS to all those MSEers who have subscribed to "INSTANT EMAIL NOTIFICATION" (which is exactly what MSEers should do because of the nature of the thread use - WHEN DONE PROPERLY !)
Even newbies shouldn't get it wrong if they follow the thread title - and if they do ignore it, not reading 1&2 or following them - then they deserve to be "jumped on" !

Hi all,
I dont know if anyone can help me: My sister has just moved to Ireland for a year, and I was trying to help her out by seeing if there was anything like seefilmfirst for Irish cinemas (I think Storm is the main chain over there), but after hunting the web for a while I cant seem to come up with anything.
Does anyone, by chance, already have these details, and ideas for where to get codes? Maybe an Irish MSE?
Thanks to anyone who can help!0 -
Anyone got tickets for DEFINITELY MAYBE tomorrow (06.02.08) that they will not be using for the GREENWICH cinema!? thanksSave saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%

Ok add my vote for def maybe 7/10 hubby described it as a chick flick. Not the usually film ryan reynolds is in. I wasn't going to see it because he was in it, but must admit it wasn't bad.Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the world together."

I'm not sure how much point there is posting this here (since it appears "dawnylou" doesn't frequent this thread, however .....looking back just a few posts...... for those doing the same (kimmy393, orangemonkey)
From the "No Chat, Tickets Only" thread
Extracted from post#2 on that thread, and reiterated time and time again by moderators ---
*** YOU ARE BREAKING THE SITE RULES ! ***
The "TICKETS ONLY thread" is for the posting of codes, links, newspaper and magazine offers ONLY from the commercial movie, film, advertising and promtional industry and NOT for individual MSE members with a spare ticket !!!
And dawnylou, if you do read this, in making your above post that contains no free tickets information, you do realise that as a result HUNDREDS, maybe THOUSANDS, of emails have been sent by MSE to all those members that have subscribed to "instant notification" on that thread (so as not to miss out on a new code/offer) and are now logging on to find your "ravings". Perhaps you can now understand why people get so annoyed when posts ignore the rules of the thread or break MSE membership T&Cs
As far as I could see I was not breaking rules - I offered someone tickets - I was not swapping as I wasn't getting anything back I was just thinking someone else may be able to benefit from them that is all. And I was not giving any personal information out either.
Someone else did it yesterday and not a single person said a word to them so it feels this was quite a personal attack and uncalled for (and at least someone else got to benefit from them rather than them being wasted!!)
As I said because the title of the thread was Free Cinema Tickets and I had free cinema tickets to give away I assumed that was where they should go!geminilady wrote: »As you said Dawnylou IS NOT a reguler member of this thread so how could she realise that emails had been sent to "thousands"of people???? what happened to "be nice to all money savers"?? All dawnylou did was offer her tickets for free. The board is called free cinema tickets so to me and many other people who are NOT regulers of this thread it would seem the obvious place to post.As to Dawny "raving" she tried to do a GOOD thing and save people some money. This is a money saving site or maybe i got it wrong? and gets slated for it.I for one am not suprised she got upset.Hope you are very proud of yourself .
Your post made me quite emotional
I am glad that at least one person appreciates I tried to do something that I really did think was a good deed.
But I will offer them up to people in other threads if it happens again in future because there is no point in trying to do something for someone when it just leads to upset and humiliation.I don't think it helps any to focus on one particular person or post as it seems to happen regularly; I wonder if it would be possible to have the thread moderated so the posts were checked before they were put up? (Or, if that's not possible on this board, if someone ran one elsewhere?)
Haven't read this whole thread so apologies if it's already been suggested.
Yes I agree!! All this focus on me making a mistake. 2 people making horrible posts to me in the ticket thread and then coming here to find I am being 'named and shamed' - all because ONCE in the 3 and a half years I have been here I !!!! up so lets all provide public humiliation for me and me alone - and why?? Because I didn't know it was against the rules to give a gift to someone on here?!?!
But other people offer their tickets up and others take them too!!!Dream of being mortgage free....

roddydogs asked on the other thread what the point is of posting codes here if seefilmfirst send him the codes anyway. To answer him here where he should have asked the question in the first place: They don't send you every code. In fact, I have received ONE code from them in the last few months or so. The rest has been found elsewhere by people and kindly posted here. If you are content with receiving the few codes the company emails out to you, fine. We are not.Reclaimed thanks to this site:
