This is your third thread on the same subject; you haven't heeded previous advice.
It's not going to end well.

Take this kindly,as its intended.Your question is the same with the same answer, its going to stay that way no matter how many times you ask it.You personally will NOT be allowed to have the gas suppy removed, unless your the property owner or have their permission, which is highly unlikely to be given.Any removal costs are also yours. You will also be responsible for the cost of fully restoring a functional gas supply before leaving the property.

Op as above in your never ending quest to get your gas disconnected. Rather than pay for standing charges see guide below only for disconnection, from Robin9 link.

Say about £2000 now and £2000 later for reconnect. £4000 approx?

Hope your savings is worth it?

If that's what you want to do it's easy - turn off the valve by the meter.  BUT and its a big BUT   you will still pay standing charges every day.

Another Utility company has said that that it would cost about £150 - the question asked above was about a legitimate phone number not for opinions or any other diversions, just a British Gas phone number & if its for getting the gas turned off even better

@gesdt50 From your post of yesterday on the second thread

"Hi, can anyone be so kind as to advise if the Council should be charged to have the gas meter disconnected as I don't use & don't want to have to pay standing charges or will the charge be on myself the tenant ? "

It all depends on what you are trying to achieve - if you don't want is the cheapest form of heating for most of us - you would keep the gas, install a boiler and rads - all for the cost of ripping out the pipes and reinstalling them.

They do cap it off in this borough east London free,  Mears the contractors said they still have to come out every year and  check  it ?

Theres a choice to be made, either pay the lowest standing charges that you can find, probably wont find a supplier with no standing charge or pay a potentially huge amount to have it removed.Bear in mind potentially huge cost to have it refitted,as any landlord, housing association etc, will insist on.Lastly I might be wrong, unless you have permission to do this you cant in any case.If your second quote is the case then I cant grasp why you haven't done anything about it,whats the issue having it checked once a year?.
