You could try 0800 048 0202, haven't used it for a while though. I'd recommend using a digital channel though, much easier https://www.britishgas.co.uk/help-and-support/0

The Op appears to be willing to go ahead knowing the advice given so far about paying for reinstatement?
Perhaps in future living there for decades?
As posted previously as OP has a minimalistic lifestyle. Then perhaps trying the few energy providers with no standing charges would help or getting in touch with BG or others as other posters have suggested, to find out any actual costs for total disconnection? Op can then decide?

No suppliers currently offer an NSC tariff. Ebico claim to (Green Zero), but there is still a minimum annual account charge of £52. This is probably the OP's cheapest option, at about 14p per day.
No, I've not seem his TA, but I have little doubt that disconnecting the gas supply would be considered a 'structural' alteration, requiring the LL's consent. Which they would refuse. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Since Ebico has been bought over by BG then might not be available now?

This is a variable contract which means the charges of the supplier of electricity and/or gas may be increased in the future. A minimum of 30 days’ notice will be provided in writing for unilateral variations and any changes to the tariff, price plan or charges that adversely affect our customers. How does the structure of this tariff work?
*Our Smart Energy tariff has two unit rates and no standing charge The First Rate is collected for the first 2 kWh of electricity or 2 kWh of gas used per day. The Saver Rate applies for all remaining kWh of electricity or gas used in the day.The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
That is a PPM tariff. Is the OP on PPM's?
Ebico has not been 'bought over' by BG. It's supply partner has become BG following the sale of RHE to BG. And BG are honouring existing tariffs.
Ebico are still offering Green Zero.

Ebico are still offering Green Zero.BG has already said that they are migrating the customers to BG but aren't a supply partner to Ebico and thus won't be using the Ebico brand.Sadly, if my experience is anything to go by, BG is not honouring existing Ebico tariffs, despite saying they will. I have an open complaint about this. Finally, Ebico products are not now available except for existing customers yet to be migrated.
