Glad you had a nice trip Arb, and hopefully will be easy
I might have to buy some tom plants too, mine are growing a mm every third day I think.
How would you know if a flower is male or female....? Do you get male/female courgettes that produce corresponding flowers..? Serious question.
In the midst of neighbours from hell, hurray for your Lovely Neighbour FarwayDid the facefook gardener not come to anything? Your AI pic made me guffaw, we're really in no danger yet are we ha haa! I do like the dewy covering on the grapes and the bee's neck fluff though. 4/10 - must try harder.
That sounds like a top day 2p, a good trifectaDid you see anything in the beautiful garden that took your fancy?
Forecast dry here all day and as soon as it stops drizzling it might well be. Sunny this aft with a top temp of 18' and a slightly lower UV rating than yesterday, they say. That's plenty enough for me thank you.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.6 -
Me swish roses - the Churchill one is producing branches all over the place and now needs canes to hold em upThe other one’s a bit behind but it’ll be out any day I reckon -
Oh and buy shares in bamboo cane companies, and whoever produces those little green clip/hook things. Jeez I’m getting through them.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.5 -
If AI doesn't know the difference between flowers and fruit, it had better not work in a florist. Imagine someone being sent, an arrangement of mangoes and raisins. It's a pity your rose is Winston Churchill, not Lady of Shalott, Bluey, but there again, what's in a name? Not much, unless you get Techno Mechanicus, like Elon Musk's latest. Anyway, you like yours, and that's what matters.Blooming hot here yesterday, but somehow I managed to work in the polytunnel, building the much-needed deep bed for our tomatoes. It's a race now to get it finished and filled-up.
Meanwhile, Mrs Dusty was working on the second and larger new entrance bank, de-stoning it, ready for planting later in the week.
Up at the house, we were treated through the weekend with many more visits from both male and female Greater Spotted Woodpeckers. Here's him:He has a red blob on the back of his head. He's also quite bold now, making it easier to get good photos. Those who've tried, will know that woodpeckers usually make pictures like these hard to achieve, by always being on the opposite side of the tree trunk from the photographer. With 20c forecast, it's another outdoorsy day in prospect, with only a brief chance of a shower. Don't worry, though, the Bank Holiday looks like being .err...'normal.' :|So, if the tourists aren't cryptosporidium-ed and forced to stay within running distance of a loo, they'll be basking under cloudy skies and frolicking in the sea at 14c.We yokels will be staying local, but we might go American crayfish hunting; in fact, I'd think it's a certainty.

Now I see your WC rose in its bed, Bluey, it's obviously not like the LofS one I posted. Colours are tricky things on the internet.Back to Rosemoor and my failed bee bum picture, or one of them.
I'm rather taken with this shrub, which prefers our acid soil. Hopefully I'll get back there after the holiwobbles, to see how long it stays in flower. If it's still going, we'll find room for one.
Note the lichen. That's on-trend too. They have a Lichen Trail now, but somehow I don't think it'll catch-on. Not everyone wants their bum covered with greeny-brown stuff when they sit on benches that are festooned with a symbiotic mix of fungus and algae.

I'm happy enough with it Dusty but if I saw a LoS....
What's the flower in your last pic? That's a striking plant!I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.4 -
Indeed I saw something I liked......a wild grassy terrace on a hill, surrounded on 3 sides by trees full of bird song and overloking a field full of buttercups, wild pond and on to the sea.
I could have sat on the lichen covered bench for hours!
Deep envy
Loads of flowers tumbling over slate paths with stone walls around.
Cloudy and a bit grey. Birds are looking subdued but after the heat yesterday it's not unwelcome.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

If you do happen to have shares in Royal Mail, now known as RMG, they are trading today at a 16-month-high, though still nowhere near the £6 each they once were, when we should probably have dumped ours.
Disclaimer: I am not a financial expert. Anyone viewing my bank account would work that out in 3 milliseconds.

What's the flower in your last pic? That's a striking plant!Enkianthus sometingorother. It's on the pic, in bottom left corner, but probably too discreet.By the way, I saw you have a Nectaroscordum siculum next to your rose.Thought you should know. Mrs Dusty doesn't rate them, but they're OK, IMO, and quite discreet as well.

Researching Lady of Shalot... it doesn't say specifically but I think it might smell as sweet... And I've just noticed you put the name of the Honeybell looking plant in the picture *doh*
That sounds like a slice of heaven 2p, dream big!
Reading the news this morning and I was going to say ....things.... but I honestly daren't comment
