Good news, prompted me to check my radishes just in case, nothing yet but too soon TBH, and still no more signs with my roses from seed experiment :(
Should today's weather perk up I have some Shasta daises, seed sown 2020 but now grown on in pots that need getting into final spots sharpish, one of those jobs come Autumn glad the effort was made eighteen months previous

I managed to get out the front yesterday afternoon, weather improved & so cleared the dead stems of bedding, dahlias etc. I leave the dahlias in because they normally overwinter just fine here, and only grown from seed so nothing expensive to lose
And now the Tete a Tete are fully visible with heads in the sunshine

Another clear cold morning here, with just enough frost to necessitate scraping car windscreens.  Although the air temp is only about 5C now (at 11.00), there is warmth in the sun and it is quite pleasant to be out in the sunnier parts of the garden.  Yesterday lunchtime, I compared the temperature of the soil surface of the bed that I had dug over on Saturday (and covered with a hoop cloche) with  the one that is still to be dug over - 21C under the cloche and only 4C on the open one.

No blooms here yet from daffs or crocus, although the snow drops are fully out. I split them up a few years ago, and now have multiple groups dotted in the border, so at least something is up.

    Beautiful photo!
We had not only a full dry day but sun! I had to resand the enormous wrought iron gate and frame because what I'd done had gone rusty again, all coverings blown off in the gales and more paint flaking. Not so arduous when it's a sunny spot about 15C.
I'm mortified that my newly planted dwarf daffs have been eaten. Slugs had the dwarf iris shoots and now birds or slugs the daffs. Put lots of crushed egg shells down. We'll see if it works.
Everything is so new in this garden it tends to come late. Buds are there but not blossoming as it should be. I'm impatient.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Sun's out this morning, but a cold wind which may deter me from planting out the Shasta daisies that were rained off yesterday
Nice snowdrops Dave, I assume they are a named variety? I've never grown snowdrops even though I like them but with my hungry squirrels I wonder about the expense & then never seeing them again

Now, here's one for head scratching.
While out the front the other day I spotted this on an old buddlia, the buddlia I suspect is dying due to weed killer drift and I assume this is part of the decay process
There are others on there that have deflated so guessing this has some gas inside [not from breakfast ]
    Anyone know it's name?

Farway how about a reverse image search on Google? I've got an old computer and can't seem to bring it up but maybe you can.
    Beautiful thing whatever it is.
Love the snowdrops. I've got some of those still in pots ready to plant out but more important stuff for the dry times at the mo.
Blowing a cold wind with force today. I thought about wrapping up and getting on with the gate but add the wind to a trip to the dentise and I decided it would still be there another day and I needed a little TLC.
More blossom coming out around the town, my new Prunus has a couple of flower buds hovering for some sunshine, ditto the magnolia. Know how they feel.
